Head of Accounts - Health Focus at Uni-medical Healthcare Limited

We are Uni-medical Healthcare Limited, Nigeria, a subsidiary of Unigloves Singapore, owned by UG Healthcare Corporation. Unigloves is one of the largest manufacturers of disposable products for the dental, medical, nursing, and hospital sectors and for the industry. Our manufacturing company is N. S. UNI- Gloves in Malaysia. We have marketing offices in over 10 countries in the world, including Nigeria, Singapore, the UK, the USA, Germany, China, Brazil, Australia, Canada and Japan. We supply a wide range of cross-infection control products. We make and supply over 1.3 billion gloves annually to medical professionals, as well as specialists in the food, automotive, janitorial and care sectors. The company’s Head Office is located at Plot B2, Block 73f. Alakoso Avenue, Amuwo Odofin Industrial Estate, Lagos with marketing offices in Abuja, Asaba, and Enugu.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Accounts - Health Focus

Location: Enugu
Employment Type: Full-time

Purpose of the Role

• The Head of Accounts will provide end-to-end operational leadership across Health Focus and play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient financial operations.
• Act as the direct operational lead for the finance teams of Health Focus while aligning strategies with the CFO & MD.
• The role focuses on overseeing financial activities, preparing reports, managing budgets, and ensuring the company’s financial health.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in ensuring robust financial reporting, tax compliance, treasury management, and support for business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for Health Focus
• Supervise finance officers and accountants across Health Focus
• Oversee statutory audits, internal audits, and regulatory filings
• Oversees reconciled bank statements and ensures timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
• Monitor actual performance against budgets and analyse variances
• Maintain accurate general ledger integrity for Health Focus and other related entities
• Monitor Expenditures and perform variance analysis to provide actionable insights.
• Oversee receivables, payables, inventory financing, and credit control.
• Ensure timely filing of all tax obligations (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, etc.).
• Updating and maintaining the Fixed Assets register and posting depreciation/Amortisation.
• Develop rolling forecasts, cash flow projections, and long-range financial models

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or CPA) is required. A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria
• Minimum of 7–10 years relevant experience, preferably in medical consumables, healthcare, or distribution industries. Proven leadership and cross-functional communication abilities
• Proximity to Enugu State will be an advantage.

Skills, ability & knowledge:

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax laws, treasury management, and ERP systems
• Exceptional knowledge of analysing risks, preparing forecasts, cost accounting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Accurate and precise attention to detail.
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
