Job Title: Housekeeping Attendant

Location: Benin City, Edo

Objective of the Role

• We are seeking a diligent, detail-oriented, and reliable Housekeeping Attendant to join our team.
• The primary objective is to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness in all assigned areas, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and positive environment for guests, clients, and staff.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
Primary Cleaning Duties:

• Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including but not limited to: guest rooms, public areas (lobbies, hallways, restrooms), offices, and common spaces.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, showers, toilets, and fixtures; replenish toiletries and supplies.
• Make beds, change linens, and ensure rooms are tidy and welcoming.
• Dust, polish furniture, and vacuum/mop floors.
• Clean mirrors, windows, glass surfaces, and other high-touch areas.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas.
• Restock room amenities (e.g., towels, coffee, tissues) and housekeeping cart.

Maintenance & Compliance:

• Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards (e.g., broken furniture, leaky faucets, burned-out lights) immediately to the supervisor.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and sanitation protocols and guidelines.
• Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment responsibly.
• Ensure lost and found items are reported and handed in promptly.

Guest & Team Interaction:

• Respect guest privacy and security at all times.
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests for additional supplies or services.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Collaborate effectively with other housekeeping and departmental staff.
• Assist in deep cleaning projects and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements
Essential:

• No formal education required; high school diploma or equivalent is a plus.
• Proven experience in a housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning role is preferred but not mandatory; we provide on-the-job training.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality results.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting (up to 25-30 lbs), standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Basic understanding of cleaning techniques and safe use of chemicals.

Preferred (but not required):

• Experience in a [hotel/hospital/office] environment.
• Knowledge of eco-friendly cleaning practices.
• Strong time management skills.

Working Conditions

• This role is physically demanding and requires working in a fast-paced environment.
• Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and early mornings/evenings, depending on operational needs.
