Job Summary

• We are looking for a skilled and reliable Pastry & Dessert Cook to prepare and present dessert-based finger foods for a growing food cart business.
• This role is focused strictly on baking, food preparation, and presentation.
• The successful candidate will work under supervision and follow set recipes, standards, and instructions. While the owner may not always be physically present, clear guidelines and expectations will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Bake and prepare dessert finger foods and pastries such as: mini cakes, cupcakes, doughnuts, cookies, puff pastries, dessert bites, etc.
• Ensure food is neatly finished, attractive, and presentable for sale.
• Follow provided recipes, portion sizes, and preparation standards.
• Package food properly for display and sale.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work area at all times.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards strictly.
• Communicate with the owner regarding ingredient needs and production issues.

Requirements

• Experience in baking or pastry/sweet treat preparation (home bakers with strong skills are welcome).
• Good food presentation and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safe handling practices.
• Reliable, honest, and punctual.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions when unsupervised.
• Willingness to maintain consistency and standards.
• Creativity and the ability to think of new ways to improve the business.
