GPED Global Services, a recruitment and general goods company, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Marine Engineer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain propulsion systems, generators, engines, pumps, boilers, and auxiliary machinery.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify faults and ensure optimal performance of all mechanical systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on ship machinery and systems.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out necessary repairs.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Participate in safety drills and emergency response procedures.
• Monitor fuel consumption, lubrication systems, and emissions in accordance with environmental standards.
• Support navigation and cargo operations by ensuring all mechanical systems are operational.
• Coordinate with deck officers and crew to ensure smooth vessel operations.
• Prepare and submit technical reports, maintenance logs, and equipment performance records.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and request replenishment when necessary.
• Supervise junior engineers and engine room crew.
• Provide training on equipment handling and safety procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Marine Engineering or related fields with 3–5 years experience.
• Strong knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a dynamic marine environment.
