We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Design Architect

Location: Anthony, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

• The ideal designer will have a creative flare and an eye for bold and innovative designs.
• S/he will play a vital role in the conceptualization, planning, and execution of design-build projects.
• S/he will have a technical understanding of design principles, architectural expertise, creativity, and problem- solving skills to ensure that spaces are safe, functional, aesthetically pleasing, and meet our client’s standards and requirements.

Responsibilities
Design Development:

• Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, lifestyle, and design preferences; and the design team to develop and implement innovative design strategies that align with client objectives
• Determine space requirements and how to use space intelligently
• Integrate wellness, functionality, and user experience into all design proposals
• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, plans, and 3D models, ensuring design integrity and adherence to building codes and regulations
• Prepare detailed architectural drawings and 3D models, using design tools like AutoCAD and SketchUp to depict plans, elevations, sections and detailed project documents

Project management:

• Collaborate with Design Ops to create a project process map for the design team and standardize the project management blueprint
• Lead and manage all design-build projects, overseeing all phases of design, from concept to completion.
• Develop project schedules and monitor timelines, budgets, resource allocation plan and maintain accountability with vendors and consultants to ensure on-time completion.
• Provide clear and precise documentation for contractors, fabricators, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Present design concepts to clients and address feedback effectively; Address any issues related to materials or design adjustments, especially during the installation phase
• Effectively work with both the internal and external stakeholders – design team, engineers, electricians, contractors and architectsto ensure project success
• Lead project meetings and site visits to ensure that designs are implemented according to Client’s design plan.

Risk Management:

• Develop and maintain the Project Risk Management Plan and Risk Register.
• Facilitate routine risk meetings with the design team to assess ongoing project risks and review and update the project risk register.
• Proactively apply lateral thinking and analyze available information to solve complex problems and put it into process for other teams to comply.

Site Support:

• Conduct site visits and inspections, coordinating with the Client’s supervisor, contractors, artisans and other stakeholders both in person and remotely, to ensure that work progresses accordingly to design plan
• Assist in resolving any queries that may arise during the project implementation phase.

Research & Development:

• Stay updated with the latest design trends, materials, and innovations in the interior design/architecture industry
• Explore and incorporate wellness-driven and sustainable design practices.

Leadership:

• Provide guidance and support to junior designers and interns and help them fine-tune their design

Material & Finish selection:

• Source for sustainable and luxury-grade materials where appropriate.
• Stay updated on new trends, materials and sustainable design practices.

Compliance:

• Ensure all designs comply with relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in interior architecture or design
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and similar design tools
• Proven experience in luxury interior design or architecture, with a portfolio showcasing completed projects and detailed working drawings.
