Job Title: Business Development Lead

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • At Ceviant Finance, we are looking for an experienced and strategic Business Development Lead to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • This role is responsible for leading high-value business development initiatives across deposit mobilisation and credit services, managing key client relationships, and contributing to the overall growth strategy.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the execution of business development strategies aligned with Ceviant Finance’s growth objectives and revenue targets.
  • Drive deposit mobilisation and credit origination initiatives, focusing on HNIs, corporates, and institutional clients.
  • Identify, pursue, and close high-value opportunities, including structured credit transactions and bespoke financial solutions.
  • Build, manage, and deepen strategic relationships with key clients, partners, and intermediaries to sustain long-term business growth.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on client onboarding, deal structuring, and transaction execution in collaboration with Credit, Risk, Legal, and Operations teams.
  • Conduct in-depth market and competitor analysis to identify trends, risks, and new growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Marketing to design and implement targeted campaigns that strengthen brand visibility and drive pipeline growth.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by providing sound financial guidance and tailored product recommendations.
  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate sales pipelines, client documentation, and management reports, supporting forecasting and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk management frameworks across all business development activities.
  • Contribute to management discussions on product development, pricing strategy, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Mentor and support business development team members, where applicable, to enhance overall team performance.

Educational Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; a relevant postgraduate qualification or professional certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, relationship management, or sales, preferably in a financial services institution.
  • Strong experience in deposit mobilisation, credit origination, and structured financial transactions.
  • Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
  • Advanced client relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Deep understanding of financial products, credit analysis, and regulatory considerations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and familiarity with CRM tools.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, influence senior stakeholders, and collaborate across functions.
