Job Title: Resident Quantity Surveyor (Contracting Firm)

Locations: Ilorin, Kwara and Uyo, Akwa Ibom
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Resident Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control across our construction and development projects.
• This role is critical to ensuring that project costs are accurately forecasted, monitored, and managed from pre-construction through project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare bills of quantities (BOQs) and cost breakdowns.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to establish project budget and ensure cost control throughout the construction process.
• Ensure project cost tracking and management of cost.
• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documentation.
• Assist in the preparation and administration of construction contracts.
• Act as liaison between clients and internal stakeholders.
• Analyze completed projects to determine Return on Investment and compare cost.
• Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Provide cost estimates for various project phases, including pre-construction, tender, and post-construction stages.
• Attend meetings and conduct visits to site for valuation of work done/preparation of valuations.
• Review and negotiate contractual terms and conditions.
• Measure and quantify construction materials and work activities.
• Ensure that all materials align with project requirements and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate project records, including contract documents, change orders, report on projects cost and payment and correspondence.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with project teams to resolve disputes and claims.
• Ensure continual improvement of the ISO 9001/2015 Management systems

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of an HND or bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Building Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years’ experience in the construction industry.

Compensation
