Qualifications

• Strong Artistic Ability: Excellent drawing and design skills, especially in freehand and custom artwork.
• Tattoo Apprenticeship: Completion of a 1–2 year apprenticeship under a licensed tattoo artist.
• Professional Portfolio: A collection of original tattoo designs and completed work to showcase skills.
• Health & Safety Certifications: Training in bloodborne pathogens, infection control, CPR, and first aid.
• Tattoo License: Required in many regions; involves passing health inspections and meeting legal standards.
• Knowledge of Tattoo Equipment: Proficiency in using tattoo machines, needles, inks, and sterilization tools.
• Understanding of Skin Anatomy: Knowledge of how skin reacts to ink and how to minimize trauma.
• Client Communication Skills: Ability to consult with clients, explain procedures, and provide aftercare guidance.
• Attention to Hygiene and Sanitation: Strict adherence to cleanliness and sterilization protocols.
• Business and Marketing Skills (optional but helpful): Especially important for freelance or self-employed artists.
