Role Overview
Our client, a tech start up is seeking a high-performance Senior IT Manager to lead delivery, modernization, and growth across Government and Enterprise services.
This role sits at the intersection of deep technical execution, customer leadership, and revenue generation.
You will own technical delivery across cloud modernization, cybersecurity compliance, data and AI platforms, and managed services takeovers while directly supporting customer success, contract expansion, and new revenue.
This role requires 10–15+ years of hands-on technical leadership and the ability to operate confidently with government stakeholders, enterprise clients, and internal executive teams.
If you are not both technically sharp and commercially aware, this role is not a fit.
Core Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
Lead architecture, delivery, and optimization for:
Cloud modernization (Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, hybrid and multi-cloud)
Cybersecurity and compliance programs (CMMC, NIST, ISO)
Data, AI, and analytics modernization platforms
Managed services takeovers, transitions, and stabilization
Translate business and mission requirements into scalable technical solutions
Set technical standards, best practices, and delivery frameworks
Ensure high availability, performance, security, and scalability across environments
Government & Enterprise Service Delivery
Manage delivery of services for: Federal, state, and defense customers, Large enterprise clients.
Ensure contract compliance, SLAs, KPIs, and reporting requirements are met
Act as senior technical authority during audits, assessments, and customer reviews
Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and service improvement initiatives
Cyber Compliance & Risk Management
Lead and oversee compliance initiatives aligned with:
CMMC (Levels 1–3+)
NIST 800-53 / 800-171
ISO 27001 / 22301
Support security assessments, POA&Ms, remediation planning, and evidence collection.
Ensure security controls are operational, documented, and continuously improved
Partner with customers to reduce risk and pass audits successfully
Managed Services & Operations Leadership
Take over and stabilize existing managed services environments
Improve operational maturity, monitoring, automation, and documentation
Optimize cost, performance, and support models
Build and lead high-performance operations and engineering teams
Enforce accountability, uptime, and service quality
Customer Leadership & Revenue Generation
Serve as trusted technical advisor to customers
Identify expansion opportunities, upsell paths, and new service needs
Support pre-sales, solution design, and technical input for proposals and bids
Partner with sales and leadership to convert technical solutions into revenue
Lead, mentor, and scale technical teams across cloud, security, data, and operations
Set clear performance expectations and execution standards
Remove blockers, enforce discipline, and drive results
Recruit, onboard, and develop top technical talent.
Required Qualifications
10–15+ years of progressive IT experience with increasing leadership responsibility
Deep hands-on experience with:
Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, hybrid environments
Cybersecurity frameworks and compliance (CMMC, NIST, ISO)
Data platforms, analytics, and AI solutions
Managed services and enterprise IT operations
Proven experience delivering services for government and enterprise customers
Experience supporting proposals, pricing input, and technical bids
Strong understanding of SLAs, KPIs, and service delivery economics.
Highly Preferred:
Experience working with U.S. Federal agencies or defense customers
Experience leading managed services takeovers
Prior responsibility for revenue growth or account expansion
Certifications (preferred, not required):
Azure Solutions Architect / Security Engineer
CISSP, CISM, or equivalent
ITIL, PMP, or SAFe.
