Plan, organize, and evaluate project activities related to the training of nurses, nutritional assistants, and nurse aides, in accordance with the protocols established as standards in the paediatric ward, to strengthen the quality and continuity of care and support the implementation of the action plan
Structuring training activities over annual plan, with topics tailored to the specific context and to the targeted health‑care staff, while providing both theoretical and practical approaches to support knowledge transfer and the effective application of learning.
Based on annual training plan, collaborate closely with medical teams to coordinate medical learning activities that may impact doctors and any others medical teams in the objective to improve quality of care of Ganjuwa hospital and ATFCs
Job Description
Training Needs Assessment:
Conduct regular assessments & learning needs analysis to identify training gaps and skills deficiencies together with the medical team, to define the learning activities to be included in the continuous professional development
In collaboration with the project’s medical team, assesses and prioritises training needs for medical and hospital staff
Prepare and implement medical training:
Design and implement comprehensive annual training programs for all nursing and nursing assistant workers
Tailor training sessions together with experts to address specific needs of the hospital, including infection prevention, medical procedures, and patient management.
Lead and conduct training sessions, workshops, and simulations for medical /paramedical staff using teaching material provided by MSF, applying relevant teaching methodology for adult learners
Responsible for practical training organisation, room, material, participant and attendance list
Use a variety of training methods, including classroom teaching, hands-on practice, and e-learning.
Provide one-on-one mentoring bed-side teaching to staff as needed to reinforce key skills and knowledge.
Ensure that training sessions are interactive, engaging, and supportive of the staff’s learning styles.
Co-facilitates trainings with trainers in the project
Regularly report on training progress, challenges, and outcomes.
Make use of current training validated materials and point out any missing ones for further development with the medical department and L&D
Bedside teaching and clinical mentoring for nurses and nurse assistants is the main activity of this position.
Deliver the facilitations & simulations sessions for the learners
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback surveys, skills assessments, and observation.
Contributes to the development and implementation of a training schedule for both peak and non‑peak periods, ensuring that each session clearly outlines the training topic, duration, planned dates, and the number and names of participants (Cf annual Plan)
Adjust annual training plans based on feedback and ongoing evaluation to ensure continuous improvement
Requirements
Education:
Registered Nurse degree with significant work experience in paediatric
Experience:
Previous experience with MSF or other NGOs, as well as exposure to work in humanitarian settings or low-resource countries, is highly desirable.
Strong mastery of current protocols, with the ability to apply them effectively in the field.
Previous professional experience in training or teaching is preferred, ideally in a clinical or humanitarian context.

Language:
English and Hausa are essential
Knowledge:
Proficiency in computer tools is mandatory (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet). Proficiency in the Tembo MSF learning platform or digital learning is an asset.
