VisionSpring is creating access to affordable eyewear, everywhere. Clear vision creates opportunities for increased learning, work, safety, civic participation, and quality of life. As a social enterprise, social change motivates us first. Our focus on sales and revenue targets serves and advances our mission objective—to increase functioning, productivity, and income earning potential for our low-income consumers by correcting refractive error and presbyopia with eyeglasses. We are working to transform the systemic dysfunction of an optical market that has failed to deliver eyeglasses—a 700-year-old technology—to 2.7 billion consumers in need of vision correction, most of whom live on less than $4 a day.
We serve low-income consumers, not as beneficiaries but as customers. Our customers expect a high-quality and affordable product, and they will spend limited discretionary income for the immediate and tangible benefits of vision correction. By selling eyeglasses, we awaken new demand and seed a viable market. By selling new eyeglasses we are able to serve four times as many people per dollar input than the alternative of donating recycled ones. To efficiently scale, we must deliver each new unit at a lower cost. We run our business on both sales metrics and social impact measures. We use a range of organizational forms and practices to get the job done. We believe in scaling our impact, not our organization. We are a lean team of doers.

Description
The Digital Communications Lead owns the day-to-day execution and optimization of all global digital platforms—website, social media, email newsletters, and donor engagement campaigns.
This role combines strategic thinking about audience segments and message testing with hands-on execution: scheduling posts, updating web copy, managing analytics, and ensuring consistent brand voice across all online channels.

The person in this role collaborates closely with internal stakeholders—including marketing, resource mobilization, programs, and the executive office—across eight countries: Bangladesh, Ghana, India, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Vietnam, and Zambia. This position reports to the Global Senior Manager of Communications.
About You
You have strong project management and organizational skills, with extraordinary attention to detail. You manage multiple digital channels and campaigns simultaneously without losing quality or momentum.
You are data-driven. You understand what metrics matter (engagement, click-through, conversion, reach), routinely analyze performance, and optimize strategy based on what the data tells you. And you understand how to communicate this information broadly through dashboards and slide decks.
You are a clear, concise writer with an ear for brand voice. You can adapt style and messaging for different audiences—donors, customers, partners, media—while maintaining VisionSpring consistency.

You enjoy working across time zones and cultures with a diverse team. You thrive in environments where priorities can shift and each day brings new challenges.
You are deeply curious about social enterprise models and genuinely interested in VisionSpring's mission. You care about the stories we tell and why they matter.
