Intersex Nigeria (Center for Healthcare Development and Youth Empowerment) is an intersex-led and focused Non-Governmental Organization in Nigeria. We promote and advocate for the sexual reproductive health, self-determination, bodily autonomy, and overall human rights of intersex people in all diversity in Nigeria. Through community building, advocacy, evidence-based research, empowerment, educational and informational resources on intersex-related issues to the public, partners, stakeholders, and our community.
The Programs Associate will support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of organizational programs and projects.
The role ensures that programs are effectively delivered, results are tracked, and learning is used to improve impact and accountability to intersex communities, donors, and partners.
The Program Associate will contribute to project design and implementation, community engagement, documentation, and reporting.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about promoting social justice, equality, and advancing intersex human rights in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
Program Implementation Support:
Assist in the coordination and implementation of project and program activities according to approved work plans.
Support the development of proposals and preparation of activity.
Provide on-site support during trainings, workshops, advocacy meetings, and outreach activities.
Ensure proper documentation (attendance sheets, minutes, photos) of project activities.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL):
Support data collection and entry for project indicators using agreed MEL tools.
Contribute to the development of success stories, case studies, and field reports.
Maintain organized digital and physical records of project data and reports.
Assist in tracking project milestones and progress against work plans.
Reporting and Documentation:
Assist in drafting activity and progress reports for internal and donor use.
Contribute to the development of quarterly and annual narrative reports.
Maintain a filing system for program documentation and correspondence.
Partnership and Communication:
Liaise with community partners, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders under the direction of the Program Manager.
Support the coordination of meetings, trainings, and field visits for program partners.
Represent Intersex Nigeria in community events or coalition activities when required.
Administrative and Financial Support:
Support budget tracking and financial documentation for program activities.
Prepare requisitions, payment requests, and retirement documents in collaboration with the Finance team.
Ensure timely submission of logistics and administrative documentation for program operations.
Learning, Accountability & Adaptation:
Support learning and reflection processes to improve program quality and effectiveness.
Ensure accountability to intersex communities through ethical, inclusive, and consent-based data collection.
Integrate lessons learned into program planning and implementation.
Key Skills and Qualifications
SOGIESC Expertise: Strong understanding of SOGIESC and intersex human rights issues.
Organization & Management: Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools; Zoho software is a plus.
Research & Documentation: Strong writing, reporting, and research abilities.
Collaborative Leadership: Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
