Job Title: Head of Operation

Job Responsibilities - Key Result Areas
Strategic leadership:
Oversees the development, documentation, delivery and monitoring of SKLD’s operations strategy
Works with Executive Management to institute a corporate performance management practice of developing and reviewing monthly and annual operations strategies, initiatives and targets.
Recommends and manages an appropriate management and organisation structure within the operations division that shows clear lines of accountability and authority
Overall responsibility for managing and maximizing the organisation’s assets under the control of the operations department to ensure effective deployment, documentation, deployment and maintenance
Works with the Management team to review systems, reduce overheads and downtime and to maximise efficiency and profitability
Operations Management:
Establishes operating processes, manuals and maintenance procedures in accordance with leading practice
Ensure deployment of appropriate Health and Safety protocols to ensure the cleanliness of workstations, spaces, among other things, in order to avoid any potential injury.
Ensure and oversee efficiency in all involving departments and units.
Maintains a cost effective and appropriate operation process.
Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices.
Examine financial data and plan operations to improve profitability.
Formulate operational strategies in line with the organization’s objectives.
Facility & Equipment Maintenance:
Oversees the timely and cost-effective repair and maintenance of equipment
Institutes a preventive maintenance plan, according to the operating manuals of the manufacturers
Ensure Facility and Logistics Managers Prepares and manages maintenance budgets and maintains a back-up of spare parts, while monitoring and controlling costs.
Ensure the Facility and Logistics managers understands their roles and properly carry out their functions
Ensure managers supervise projects and renovations to ensure they are executed to standards and within agreed timelines and provide regular updates on project status to Top Management
Leadership and People Management:
Creates a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages interchange of ideas, minority viewpoints and respectable communication across all employee levels within the organisation
Leads, coordinates, manages, and supervises the operations team using various motivational and performance driven approaches.
Supervises all managers of relating departments and ensures the quality of work meets with performance expectations
Reviews work carried out managers and recommends improvement initiatives.
Develops capability of managers to support their career development and the achievement of their performance targets.
Coaches, mentors, and trains all team members periodically on best practices, regulation and new trends.
Motivates team members to achieve set goals and exceed set targets
Overseas compliance with health and safety measures
Ensures that teammates identify and report any conflicts of interest and act appropriately.
Role models professional values and etiquette and teaches the team to do the same. Invests in growing self and team. Supports and encourages learning; pursues innovation and new idea generation.
Responsible for team management and performance. Partially responsible for team member's performance.
Ensures adherence of team to operational deliverables such as reports. Organizes team members’ goals, resources, work etc.
Collaborates with HR and other leaders to ensure that staff resourcing is planned effectively to attract competent and committed people needed fulfil strategic goals/objectives
Qualifications
Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 7-10 years experience.
