A reputable organisation based in Abuja is seeking qualified, experienced, and motivated professionals to fill the position below:

Job Title: General Manager

Location: Lokoja, Kogi

Job Description

  • The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company in addition to providing strategic direction, goals for growth to team members.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Will report directly to the Executive Director (Operations).
  • The General Manager will supervise the manufacturing process including material preparation, extrusion, printing, cutting, and finishing of all other departments.
  • Study the entire operations of the company and come up with the strategy of management, controls, coordination, implementation methods and growth projections, and submit to the Executive Director (Operations) within one month of reporting.
  • The General Manager will initiate, coordinate, and manage an effective communication channel within the organisation in liaison with the Executive Director (Operations).
  • Develop policies in liaison with the Executive Director (Operations), to ensure they are relevant, responsive, up-to-date and property understood within the organisation to meet the growing challenges of a startup production company.
  • Initiate reports/papers to the Executive Director (Operations) for the consideration of the Board of Directors.
  • Plan and forecast workforce requirements for units and departments of the company, manage the workforce through respective departmental/unit heads to ensure proper balance within the organisation.
  • Define and agree on targets as well as monitor and evaluate the performance of all departments on a timely basis.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of appropriate employee reward policies and programs to enable the company to attract and retain the best talent subject to approval by the Executive Director (Operations)
  • Ensure wocurate and timely payroll processing and ensure that employees are paid promptly and as at when due.
  • Ensure staff disciplinary issues/appeals and grievances are duly attended to and sorted out.
  • Establish and maintain a framework to foster regular organizational communication within and across functions and locations company wide
  • Build and maintain high performance culture through effective performance management, communication, coaching and mentoring staff
  • Review activity reports to determine progress and status in achieving objectives of the company.
  • Ensure compillarice with all relevant laws that have to do with the Company's operations and other Regulatory Requirements.
  • Submit to the Executive Director (Operations) a quarterly performance report, based the General Manager will be assessed.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by Executive Director (Operations).

Key Requirements

  • A Degree in Business Management (A Master's Degree will be an advantage).
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience in similar or related position strong leadership qualities and excellent communication skills

  • Proven ability to develop and achieve financial plans
  • The ability to motivate and lead employees and hold them accountable.
  • Excellent collaboration and delegation skills.
  • A clear understanding of the management functions ie. planning, organising staffing, leading and controlling function.
