Job Title: Audit and Tax Consultant

Locations: Abuja and Lekki, Ajah - Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The Audit and Tax Consultant is responsible for providing audit, accounting, and tax services to clients while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.
• The role involves analyzing financial records, preparing tax filings, identifying risks, and advising clients on financial and tax-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
Audit Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct internal and external audits in accordance with auditing standards
• Review financial statements and accounting records for accuracy and compliance
• Assess internal controls and identify areas of risk or inefficiency
• Prepare audit working papers, reports, and recommendations
• Discuss audit findings with management and provide practical solutions

Tax Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review corporate, individual, and indirect tax returns
• Ensure compliance with local and international tax laws and deadlines
• Provide tax planning and advisory services to minimize tax exposure
• Assist clients during tax audits, assessments, and investigations
• Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and communicate impacts to clients

Advisory & Client Support:

• Advise clients on accounting, tax, and regulatory matters
• Support business decisions through financial analysis and consultation
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide timely responses
• Coordinate with senior consultants, managers, and regulatory authorities

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred
• 4–7years of experience in audit and/or tax consulting
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines

Work Environment:

• Public accounting firm or professional services environment
• May involve client-site visits and extended hours during peak periods
