Job Title: Fiber Engineer

Location: Lagos

Job Description

• The Fibre Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fibre optic networks to ensure reliable and high-quality internet connectivity.
• The role involves fieldwork, network testing, and collaboration with technical teams to support seamless service delivery to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, splice, terminate, and test fibre optic cables for residential and commercial customers.
• Carry out fibre network deployments, including FTTH, FTTB, and backbone connections.
• Perform fibre splicing using fusion splicers and conduct OTDR testing.
• Troubleshoot fibre faults, signal loss, and connectivity issues.
• Maintain and repair fibre infrastructure such as ducts, closures, splitters, and cabinets.
• Conduct site surveys and assess installation requirements.
• Ensure all installations comply with safety and industry standards.
• Document network layouts, test results, and maintenance reports.
• Work closely with NOC, sales, and customer support teams to resolve service issues.
• Respond to network outages and emergency maintenance when required.
