We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: News Producer

Location: Abuja

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for both guest segments and field producing.
• Effectively coordinate with all team members to keep production running smoothly.
• Create a realistic production schedule and ensure the production runs on time and on budget.
• You will be the creative guardian of the shows and productions assigned to you.
• You will be responsible for bringing together all the elements of a show and coordinating all aspects of production.
• Pitching compelling and creative segment ideas daily.
• The producer needs strong editorial judgment with the ability to select key video and soundbites to ensure a high-quality production.
• They must be able to write package scripts under tight deadlines.
• This producer will craft hard-hitting segment questions based on thorough research.
• This position requires someone with significant field experience who can crash field edits or set up live shots.
• Working directly with development teams on the day-to-day development and production of NC TV products. This will incorporate all three phases of project development.
• Reviewing all milestones for brand integrity and gameplay, and routing to third parties as necessary. Ensuring relevant feedback is communicated to the Developer and implemented in subsequent deliverables.
• Overseeing the Q/A and localisation process with internal and external vendors, with the assistance of an Associate Producer(s).
• Supporting the Executive Producer / VP of Production in other video game projects as assigned.
• Write in-show and pre-show teases and headlines.

Person Specification

• A Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or a related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of producing with both field and control room experience.
• Must be a creative thinker with the ability to find new and entertaining ways to present information, new angles to approach stories, and the organisational skills to bring it all together.
• Outstanding news judgment, critical and strategic thinking, and an ability to be persistent yet diplomatic are critical for the position.
• Must be able to work an extended schedule as the news cycle and deadlines require.
