Background
As part of its youth enterprise and service delivery strategy, the SUSTAIN Project supports the development of community-based extension service providers for both crop and animal production.
These youth-led enterprises provide essential agricultural services—such as pesticide spraying, animal health support, and basic veterinary care—to farmers within their communities.
To ensure safe, effective, and professional service delivery, the project will procure and distribute startup kits and essential equipment to selected crop and animal extension service providers.
Objective
The specific objectives include:
Equip youth-led crop and animal extension service providers with essential tools and protective equipment.
Improve the quality, safety, and reliability of crop protection and animal health services in SUSTAIN communities.
Promote sustainable youth enterprises and income generation opportunities.
Enhance access to basic agricultural and veterinary services for smallholder farmers.
Scope of Work / Methodology
The selected vendor shall be responsible for the following:
Inputs – Crop Extension Service Providers:
Supply and deliver manual knapsack sprayers and personal protective equipment (PPE) for spray service providers in all SUSTAIN communities across Biu, Kwaya Kusar, and Toungo LGAs.
Provide 40 units each of the following:
16-litre manual knapsack sprayers with adjustable nozzles, padded shoulder straps, and waist belts
Half-face reusable respirator masks with pesticide cartridges
Chemical-resistant rubber boots (knee-high or mid-calf)
Supply and deliver animal health tools, consumables, and protective equipment for animal extension service providers in all SUSTAIN communities across Biu, Kwaya Kusar, and Toungo LGAs.
Provide the following items:
Dewormer 2.5%: 1 litre each
Hoof trimmers: 1 piece each.
Antibiotics:
Oxytetracycline 20% LA (100 ml each)
Tylosin 20% (100 ml each).
Vitamins: 100 ml each
Vaccines and biologicals:
Booster doses (25 vials)
Biologicals (1 ml × 500 vials).
Antidiarrhea medications:
Sulphadimidine (100 ml each)
Kaolin (20 g each).
Syringes and needles: 1 pack each
Protective wear sets: 1 per agent
Reusable protective gloves
Disposable surgical facemasks: 1 pack each
Portable first aid boxes or sturdy carry cases: 1 per agent.
Logistics and Handling:
Ensure all items are new, of good quality, and suitable for agricultural and animal health service delivery.
Properly package, transport, and deliver all items to designated locations as communicated by the SUSTAIN Project team.
Support item handover and verification at delivery points.
Deliverables / Expected Outputs:
Procurement and delivery of complete startup kits for crop extension service providers.
Procurement and delivery of complete animal health kits for animal extension service providers.
Equipment and supplies delivered in good condition and ready for immediate use.

Additional Information:
In the interests of transparency and equal treatment and without being able to modify their tenders, bidders may be required, at the sole written request of the evaluation committee, to provide clarifications within forty-eight (48) hours. Any such request for clarification must not seek the correction of formal errors or of major restrictions affecting performance of the contract or distorting competition.
Any attempt by a bidder to influence the evaluation committee in the process of examination, clarification, evaluation and comparison of tenders, to obtain information on how the procedure is progressing or to influence Nuru Nigeria in its decision concerning the award of the contract will result in the immediate rejection of the tender.
No liability can be accepted for late delivery of tenders. Late tenders will be rejected and will not be considered.
