Job Title: Information Security Specialist

Location: Cotonou, Benin
Job Type: Fulltime (Onsite)

Job Summary

• The Information Security Specialist will strengthen Enterprise Information Security through a risk based approach, ensuring continuous monitoring, closure of security assessment gaps, and strict enforcement of critical controls.
• This includes embedding Security by Design into all projects, enhancing organizational security culture through structured awareness programs, and maintaining robust defences aligned with industry and information security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the organization’s Security Awareness Program to strengthen the security culture.
• Monitor and drive the closure of gaps identified during security assessments, including audit findings and penetration test reports.
• Recommend appropriate corrective actions, countermeasures, and safeguards based on assessment outcomes.
• Provide practical, actionable security guidance to stakeholders across the organization.
• Collaborate with the Procurement team on security‑related contracts, including renewals of tools and licenses.
• Oversee enforcement of controls for High‑Risk Users to ensure compliance and risk reduction.
• Ensure strict enforcement of critical security controls across systems and processes.
• Work closely with planning teams (Network, IT Architecture & Engineering, Projects) to embed Security by Design into all initiatives.
• Ensure the release of documentation related to security policies and procedures, playbook, etc.
• Deal with IT & NWK for security incidents closure.
• Implement security measures on Operating Systems, application and network equipment.
• Ensure that practices comply with the security policy and related policies
• Ensure effective execution of day-to-day operations and resolve operational issues

Qualifications

• B.Sc in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or equivalent; relevant IT professional certifications.
• Engineering diploma in Information Security, Information System or telecom or its equivalent.
• Security+, CEH, ISC2 Cybersecurity or others related cybersecurity certifications
• Minimum Three (3) years’ experience in Information Security
• Understanding of Information Technology & Information Security; proven knowledge in telecoms/technology environments
• Working experience in a medium sized organization.
