BizGrowthAfrica is expanding its editorial operations as a fast-growing Pan-African digital platform serving entrepreneurs, startups, and SMEs. To support this growth, NerdzFactory is recruiting an Editorial Intern to assist with daily publishing, opportunity curation, and content operations across the platform.

Job Summary
- This role is designed as a hands-on learning opportunity for early-career professionals who are curious about digital publishing, content operations, media, or journalism within the business and development ecosystem.
- The intern will work closely with the Head of Communications and gain practical exposure to managing a high-volume content platform that publishes business news, grants, tenders, and opportunities.
- The Editorial Intern will support content publishing, basic quality checks, newsletters, and editorial hygiene while learning how structured editorial workflows operate in a real-world, fast-paced environment.
- This role offers strong exposure to content management systems, opportunity platforms, newsletters, and digital media operations, making it ideal for NYSC members, students, or recent graduates looking to build editorial experience.
About the Role
- The Editorial Intern will support the day-to-day editorial and publishing operations of BizGrowthAfrica. This role is execution-focused and learning-driven, ideal for young professionals interested in digital publishing, content operations, journalism, or media within the business and development ecosystem.
- The intern will work closely with the Head of Communications to publish content timely, clearly, and accurately, support editorial hygiene, and gain practical experience managing a high-volume digital content platform.
- This role provides strong exposure to digital publishing, opportunity curation, newsletters, and editorial operations in a fast-growing platform.
Responsibilities
Editorial & Publishing Support:
- Assist in publishing daily business news, startup stories, and ecosystem updates
Curate and publish:
- Grants, fellowships, accelerators, and competitions
- Tenders and procurement opportunities
Ensure published content is:
- Clear and well-written
- Properly categorised
- Includes deadlines and key requirements
- Support updates of time-sensitive and expiring opportunities
Newsletter & Content Support;
- Assist in preparing daily or weekly newsletters and alerts
- Support formatting, proofreading, and content organisation
- Help track published content and updates
Editorial Operations & Learning:
- Gain exposure to CMS platforms used for publishing
- Support tracking of basic content performance (what’s gaining traction)
- Assist with special content features when required
Content Review & Quality Checks:
- Proofread headlines, summaries, and short-form content
- Flag outdated or expired content
- Maintain basic editorial hygiene across the platform
- Assist in tracking simple performance indicators (e.g. most-read content)
- Ensure content aligns with BizGrowthAfrica’s tone and standards
Team Collaboration:
Required skills & who should apply:
- NYSC corps members, SIWES Interns, Fresh graduates
- Strong interest in content, media, editorial work, publishing, or communications
- Good writing, editing, content summarisation, and proofreading skills
- Strong written English and attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and follow editorial guidelines
- Good organization and time management
- Basic familiarity with blogs, news platforms, or online content publishing
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
- Comfortable using Google Docs and online tools
- Individuals eager to learn editorial tools and publishing workflows in a fast-paced digital environment
