Job Title: Creative Director
Location: Lagos
About the Role
As Senior Art Director, you will play a key role in the Creative & Production team, producing and editing high-quality visual graphics for promotional, informational, educational, or testimonial intent.
You will be a leader in the direction of video content, graphics, and animation for web programmes, games, smartphones, mobile platforms, social media, OOH and others.
Responsibilities
Develop creative assets, multimedia content, and campaigns for various platforms, including social media and online channels.
Conceptualize and propose innovative campaign ideas and tactics that align with client goals and brand voice.
Execute creative solutions across mediums (illustration, animation, video, photography) to deliver engaging and valuable content.
Create superior and original designs for the web and interactive media.
Work with a wide range of media, including photography, computer-aided design (CAD), and other emerging technologies.
Manage at least 4 Retainer Accounts and 2 Project-Based Accounts, ensuring quality from proposal to project completion.
Meet and surpass client expectations and revenue targets through innovative designs and impactful results.
Establish priorities, handle multiple projects, and communicate accurate time estimates for milestones.
Present ideas and concepts to stakeholders, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and iterate based on feedback.
Provide art direction, guidance, and oversight to internal and external creative teams and production partners.
Work closely with creative leadership to inspire the team and ensure accountability for deliverables.
Work collaboratively with account executives, web developers, and marketing specialists as part of a team.
Seek opportunities to expand creative partnerships with vendors, artists, influencers, and content creators to evolve the brand innovatively.
Identify and champion areas for growth and development within the creative team.
Maintain brand consistency by defining and upholding the design style guide.
Secure appropriate rights, licenses, and clearances for media usage to protect against copyright infringement.
Develop and inform creative briefs that inspire concepts and ideas.
Think creatively to produce new ideas and redefine design briefs within cost and time constraints.
Demonstrate illustrative skills through rough sketches and prepare layouts for online launch.
Complete at least one self-development programme per quarter, including other training requirements.
Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends in new media.
Qualifications and Skills
Proficiency in Figma and expert-level skill in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc).
3-5 years experience in an agency or similar creative setting. Familiar with fast-paced environments and managing multiple priorities.
Skilled at concepting and executing across multiple mediums and platforms (social, digital, video, web, print).
Should be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines without sacrificing quality.
Experience with motion design.
Deep understanding of creative strategy and excellence, industry trends, and design principles.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Critical thinker & proactive self-starter who anticipates needs and turns insights into clear creative choices.
Collaborative teammate, comfortable with feedback; co-creates smoothly, asks sharp questions, and iterates quickly.
Strong taste and a good eye for copy and visual storytelling.
Proven ability to create campaigns that grab attention and inspire action in a crowded market.
Curiosity about emerging tools (including AI) and a willingness to explore how they can enhance creative quality, speed, or scalability.
