Backgrounnd

• We are seeking to hire an experinced Internal Audit Manager. The Manager – Internal Audit will support in providing independent and objective assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of the Company’s governance, risk management, internal control system, and project implementation strategy.
• The Manager – Internal Audit under the guidance of the Head of Internal Audit support in providing independent and objective assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of the Company’s governance, risk management, internal control system, and project implementation strategy.
• S/he will focus on ensuring transparency, accountability, compliance with regulatory requirements, and support the achievement of company’s objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support in planning, executing, and overseeing the annual risk-based audit plan and related assignments.
• Ensure timely and high-quality audit execution, reporting, and follow-up on management actions.
• Promote transparency, compliance with procurement laws, and verification of project progress and expenditures.
• Evaluate and strengthen internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
• Advise management on control improvements, fraud prevention, and project risk mitigation.
• Oversee implementation of audit recommendations and report emerging risks to the Audit Committee.
• Drive process improvement, best practice adoption, and capacity building in audit and risk management.
• Position Internal Audit as a strategic partner in ensuring sound project governance and financial integrity.
• Support in preparing reports for the Audit Committee, and Board.
• Assist with the external audit and other statutory examinations.
• Carry out any other assignment that may be assigned by the Internal Auditor, Management or Board.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
• Professional qualifications like ICAN, ANAN, ACCA, CIA, CRM, CITN. Project Management/Engineering Audit Certification (added advantage).
• At least 7 years of Audit experience including 5 years of public sector audit.
• Strong understanding of Public Procurement Act, 2007 and Enterprise Risk Management framework.
• Strong level of IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the proven ability to present and explain complex information and suggest process improvements to diverse audiences including Executives and the Board of Directors.
• Capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency.
