We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Finance Accounting Manager

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

about the Role

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with senior management to develop financial strategies for the organization. Should be comfortable handling large amounts of data, acting as a business partner, decision maker, and providing regular financial reporting.

Responsibilities
Operations:

• Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team.
• Manage investor relations, tax, cost accounting and treasury.
• Oversee the financial operations of the company.
• Oversee the company's transaction processing systems (Receivable and Payable).
• Implement operational best practices.
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
• Manage outsourced functions.
• Oversee the operations of the Finance department in order to achieve the department's goals and objectives.
• Review work by team members, recognizes training opportunities for the team, and offer training, knowledge and support to develop team member's performance.
• Financial Information:
• Oversee the issuance of financial information with the required approval.
• Report financial results.

Risk Management:

• Understand and assist in mitigating key elements of the company's risk profile.
• Monitoring the internal control systems.
• Ensuring that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ensuring that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
• Maintain relations with external auditors.
• Ensure all charge back are treated on time.

Third Parties:

• Participate in reconciliations with the investment community.
• Maintain banking relationships.

Tax Management:

• Monthly Tax return filing and payment processing for WHT Tax, VAT, PAYE etc.
• Assist with Payroll review, approval and payment initiation.
• Represent the company along with the Tax consultant on matters of tax Audit with tax authorities.

Reporting:

• Prepare the Monthly Management Report.
• Prepare monthly work plan.
• Prepare any other report that may be requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or HNDin Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years relevant working experience.
• Accounting professional qualification/certification is required.
• Experience in the retail industry with proven competency in Import Accounting.

Skills Required:

• Competence in Tax Management.
• Competence is Cost Accounting.
• Excellent organizing skills and ability to multitask.
• Proficiency in Business computer/accounting applications such as Microsoft Excel, database administration, xero accounting software etc.
• Must possess an in-depth understanding of accounting and financial activities.
• Awarenessof the Data Security, which is designed to protect the company's financial assets.
• Transformational Leadership Skills.
• Must have a calm and professional attitude with ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Detail-oriented and analytical skills.
