Job Title: Solar Engineer
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Responsibilities
Survey and generate Bill of material for Solar PV energy systems, Engineering concept write up and drawing for Tender Submission.
Generate and analyze data to identify and resolve performance issues in any Solar PV farm
Manage and maintain all solar assets to minimize power downtime to the barest minimum and in turn maximize revenue generation
Must be proficient in energy storage systems (ESS), battery management systems (BMS), and grid-tied/off-grid systems
Ability to carry out energy audits and optimized solar system performance for maximum efficiency
Must have a strong technical and business development skills in the renewable energy sector.
Analysis and coordination of project designs documents for the effective delivery of the project by the project team
Coordination of engineering Designs for new opportunities (Design Drawing, Solution Description Document etc.)
Project Management: Providing project initiatives and conduct success-functional reviews (Milestones and Deliverables), follow project implementation Processes and Management
Business Development and support in technical areas
Support Tendering & Bid preparation Unit
Develop operations plan and direct overall activities to assist in achieving total installation and deployment objectives
Ensure and monitor project progress and/or delays and take corrective steps so as to meet Projects deadline.
To implement/follow proper QA/QC procedures by maintaining and following Project QA/QC Manual
To lead and mentor a team of Solar PV, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers on Site so as to obtain best results in line with the agreed goals.
To oversee and enforce the implementation of HSE by Sub-Contractors
To provide timely reports on project progress.
Key Performance Indicators
Successful design and implementation of solar PV and ESS systems
Successful management of installed bases of the solar PV and ESS systems
Attend meeting with client together with Business development case by case bases
Provide Engineering solutions to meet client’s requirements within a reasonable budget.
Coordinate adequate design drawing and documents to meet up client’s requirement adequately in minimal time for survey, design and Generation of BOM. Timely and workable Bill of materials with and work with the procurement department for cost-estimation where necessary.
Manage and realize project quality, Scope, Schedule of work as stipulated in the signed contract.
Job Specifications
Education:
B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related field
Professional Qualification:
MNSE – Corporate member of Nigeria Society of Engineers
COREN – Registered Engineer Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria
Any other relevant professional bodies.
Experience:
5 years Minimum in Solar PV field
Hands on experience in Project management.
