Job Title: Logistics & Warehousing Manager
Location: Lagos
Job Objective
The Logistics & Warehouse Manager owns the end-to- end logistics and warehousing execution, ensuring accurate inbound receipt, disciplined stock management, cost - efficient fulfilment, and on -time delivery to stores and customers.
The role translates demand and inventory plans into flawless product flow, protecting inventory integrity, optimizing working capital, and delivering a premium customer experience from supplier to shelf and last mile.
Own end -to- end inbound flow from distributor handover to warehouse receipt, including shipment scheduling, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and delivery coordination.
Manage logistics partners (freight forwarders and clearing agents) to ensure on -time delivery, accurate documentation, and proactive in -transit exception management.
Ensure full customs and regulatory compliance, covering import permits, duty calculations and payments, product classification, tariff codes, and applicable SON/NAFDAC requirements.
Protect brand and product integrity through adherence to anti - counterfeiting and brand protection standards.
Optimize inbound logistics costs by negotiating freight rates, consolidating shipments, improving route efficiency, and eliminating demurrage and detention.
Collaborate with Buying & Merchandising to align inbound capacity with purchase orders, inventory plans, and product launch timelines.
Own warehouse receiving operations with zero -defect discipline, ensuring physical counts, system verification against purchase orders, quality inspections, serial number capture, and immediate escalation of variances to Buying and Finance.
Maintain premium - grade storage and security standards, including environmental controls, restricted access, CCTV coverage, product segregation (new, opened -box, defective, returns), and strict FIFO enforcement.
Standardize and enforce inventory control SOPs across cycle counting, variance resolution, stock movements (transfers and returns), and shrinkage investigation with clear root - cause analysis.
Serve as first -line owner of inventory accuracy, consistently achieving accuracy across all warehouse locations.
Partner with Retail Operations to ensure timely picking and dispatch of store replenishments, fully traceable inter -store transfers, and alignment of store - as-warehouse practices with central warehouse standards.
Outbound Fulfilment & Last -Mile Delivery (Customer Promise Execution):
Own end -to- end order fulfilment across all channels, including e - commerce direct -to- customer orders, store replenishment and inter -store transfers, and SMB/EDU bulk orders.
Manage and optimize last -mile delivery partnerships, onboarding and contracting courier services, defining and enforcing SLAs, tracking delivery performance, escalating service failures, and optimizing routes and zones for cost efficiency.
Own reverse logistics operations, managing returns, exchanges, and warranty claims through inspection, disposition (restock or return -to- vendor), and refund coordination with Finance.
Partner with Customer Support to proactively resolve delivery exceptions, reduce repeat issues, and protect customer trust.
Own end -to- end logistics cost performance, including inbound freight and duties, warehousing (rent, utilities, labor), outbound delivery and last -mile costs, and losses from shrinkage or damage.
Partner with Finance to drive cost discipline, tracking cost per unit delivered, analyzing inventory days on hand and working capital impact, and reporting logistics P&L with clear variance analysis and improvement actions.
Ensure full HSE compliance across logistics operations, enforcing warehouse safety standards (fire safety, equipment handling, PPE), leading incident reporting and root - cause investigations, and ensuring adherence to NESREA and Lagos State safety regulatio ns.
Build a safety -first culture, delivering regular training on safe handling of electronics and hazardous materials and embedding HSE standards into daily operations.
Technology & Systems Leadership (Digital Backbone):
Own deployment and continuous optimization of the Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring real-time inventory visibility across all locations and standardized workflows for receiving, put away, picking, dispatch, and cycle counts with full audit trails.
Integrate warehouse and logistics systems with ERP/Finance (inventory valuation and cost allocation), POS (automated store replenishment triggers), e - commerce platforms (order fulfilment automation), and courier APIs (end -to- end track - and -trace).
Deliver actionable operational dashboards, providing daily visibility into inbound receipts and customs status, warehouse stock levels and accuracy, order fulfilment and delivery performance, cost per unit, and shrinkage trends.
Team Leadership & Capability Building (Operational Excellence):
Build a strong logistics leadership bench across Supervisors and Coordinators, with clear capability standards and role expectations.
Coach and develop direct reports to drive inventory accuracy ownership, cost and efficiency mindset, strict compliance (customs, HSE, brand standards), and data - driven problem solving.
Implement structured cross -training and role coverage, reducing single -point dependencies across inbound, warehouse, and outbound operations and ensuring continuity during absences, peak periods, or operational disruptions.
Role -model and embed a performance culture, reinforcing precision, accountability, and customer obsession through daily leadership behaviors.

Requirements
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, Business Administration , Operations Management, Logistics/Transportation Management, Engineering or other numerate disciplines
Professional qualification APICS C SCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) , CLTD (Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution), Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or above), Project
Management: PMP, PRINCE2 is an added advantage
Experience (What You Have Done)
7–10+ years’ experience in logistics and warehousing, with responsibility for multi-location or network operations.
Demonstrated experience in consumer electronics or other high - value product logistics; omni-channel retail supply chains (store replenishment and e-commerce fulfilment); customs clearance and import compliance; and managing 3PL partners in emerging markets .
Proven delivery record, including sustaining inventory accuracy in regulated environments, reducing logistics costs through process and productivity improvements, and executing customs clearance with zero compliance breaches.
