We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and proactive Legal & Administrative Assistant to support the company’s legal administration, company secretarial functions, compliance coordination, and day-to-day office operations.
This is a fully onsite role, with the assistant positioned at the reception desk as the first point of contact for visitors, partners, and official inquiries. In addition to front-desk responsibilities, the role supports core internal legal, compliance, and administrative processes critical to the smooth running of the company.
This position is well suited for someone interested in law, corporate administration, compliance, and business operations, and who is comfortable operating in a startup environment where responsibility, ownership, and professionalism are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Legal & Company Secretarial Support:
Support company secretarial functions, including maintaining statutory records and corporate documentation
Assist with drafting, reviewing, filing, and organizing contracts, agreements, resolutions, and legal documents
Support documentation related to land registrations, title perfection, and statutory filings where applicable
Assist with basic legal research and preparation of internal legal documentation
Help ensure internal operations and materials align with legal and regulatory requirements
Compliance & Regulatory Administration:
Support regulatory compliance across Afrihood’s operations
Assist with registrations, approvals, and statutory filings with relevant authorities
Maintain compliance trackers, records, and documentation
Support due diligence documentation for transactions and partnerships
Liaise with external consultants, regulators, and service providers when required
Core Administration & File Management:
Manage physical and digital filing systems, document control, and record keeping
Handle official correspondence, emails, letters, and internal communications
Assist with meeting coordination, minute taking, and follow-up actions
Support management with general administrative and operational tasks
Maintain structured workflows and ensure proper documentation across departments
Front Desk & Office Coordination:
Serve as the first point of contact at the reception desk
Receive and attend to visitors, guests, and official inquiries professionally
Handle incoming calls, messages, and general office communications
Coordinate appointments, meetings, and visitor schedules
Ensure a professional, orderly, and welcoming front-office environment
Business & HR Administrative Support:
Provide administrative support for vendors, consultants, and service providers
Assist with HR documentation, personnel records, and onboarding processes
Support compliance with internal policies and labor-related documentation
Assist with tracking staff records and internal administrative requirements
Requirements
A Law graduate (BLL and LB)
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven
Professional, discreet, and trustworthy
Confident in communication and interpersonal interaction
Comfortable handling multiple responsibilities in an onsite office environment
Willing to take ownership and grow within a structured organization
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of discipline, integrity, and confidentiality
Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Comfort with digital tools for administration and documentation.
