What You’ll Do
Sustainability Strategy & Governance:
Develop and execute UAC Foods’ company-wide Sustainability and ESG Strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
Embed sustainability considerations into business strategy, operations, supply chain, and product innovation.
Establish sustainability governance structures, policies, KPIs, and performance indicators.
Manage sustainability initiatives to ensure delivery within approved budgets and timelines.
Work closely with procurement to promote ethical and sustainable sourcing practices.
Environmental Sustainability:
Lead initiatives on energy efficiency, water stewardship, waste reduction, emissions management, and sustainable packaging.
Track and report environmental performance across manufacturing plants and operations.
Ensure compliance with Nigerian environmental regulations and international standards.
Support and promote effective green housekeeping and operating practices across the business.
Public Affairs & Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships with local, state, and federal stakeholders, including host communities and regulatory bodies.
Engage with government institutions such as the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, SON, NAFDAC, and MAN.
Partner with state governments and agencies to support sustainability-related policies and initiatives.
Community Development Projects:
Identify and evaluate community development projects and partnerships aligned with business and sustainability goals.
Conduct impact assessments to ensure initiatives meet community needs and deliver measurable value.
Ensure all projects comply with legal, regulatory, and environmental standards.
Corporate Communication & Reputation Management:
Promote and communicate UAC Foods’ sustainability philosophy to internal and external stakeholders.
Support corporate brand building through sustainability programmes, events, sponsorships, and media engagement.
Anticipate reputational risks and develop proactive communication and mitigation plans.
Reporting, Compliance & Performance Monitoring:
Lead ESG data collection, analysis, and reporting in line with GRI, SASB, TCFD, and local regulatory requirements.
Prepare sustainability inputs for annual reports, investor disclosures, audits, and ESG ratings.
Define dashboards and benchmarks to track performance and identify risks, opportunities, and innovation pathways.
Benchmark UAC Foods’ sustainability performance against industry peers.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Economics, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Master’s Degree or professional certification in Sustainability/ESG is an advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in Sustainability, ESG, Corporate Affairs, or Strategy.
FMCG industry experience is highly preferred.
Proven experience developing and implementing sustainability or ESG programmes.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and reporting skills.
Solid knowledge of Nigerian and international environmental and social regulations.
