Job Title: Project Supervisor, Heavy Machines
Location: Ajaokuta, Kogi
Reporting To: Head of Engineering
Industry: Manufacturing / Building Materials
About the Role
We are expanding our team and seeking a qualified and experienced Project Supervisor to oversee operations at our Ajaokuta Plant.
The role is responsible for creating daily and weekly work plans that outline all site activities and execution timelines, supervising on-site work according to project specifications and documenting all progress.
Monitor construction or installation quality, ensuring alignment with engineering and safety standards.
Manage and direct contractors and subcontractors, enforcing proper use of PPE and work-at-height protocols and conduct daily safety briefings, issue permits, assess risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Experience & Key Responsibilities
Create a detailed work plan of day to day activities which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
Supervise and execute the project as per the approved plan. Maintain secure and organized documentation.
Supervise and review the site and the quality of the work completed by the contractors with the project team regularly to ensure that it meets the project standards.
Direct and supervise contractors for safe execution, ensuring proper use of PPE and height safety practices.
Ensure safety norms are strictly followed. Daily checking issuing the work permits, risks identification and mitigation plans are implemented. Ensure a safe working environment for all project personnel.
Coordination for the resources like Material handling equipment, Lifting requirements, civil requirements, etc., coordinating with stakeholders and plan for the better utilization of resources.
Strong understanding of industry regulations, safety standards, and risk mitigation strategies for supervision and safe execution of projects.
Plan for shutdown managements in coordination with user departments without effecting the project schedules. Follow isolation procedures and execution at site.
Should fully understand the scope of the project, identify the major milestones and set clear priorities for the contractor team to complete the project tasks.
Escalating to project manager about all abnormal developments with respect to progress of work, safety, quality, resources etc.
Daily toolbox meeting with Contractors, Coordination with OEM technicians during erection and commissioning..
Requirements
Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years expereince in Manufacturing Industry/ Building material Industry
Strong project supervision, planning, and execution skills
Excellent manpower and scheduling management abilities
Skilled at increasing workforce productivity during execution
Capable of managing multiple tasks and sections within a factory
Technically aware of civil, electro-mechanical, and architectural works
Willingness to work extra hours during critical project phases.
