Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant
Location: Gashua, Yobe

Main Activities
Under the guidance of the pharmacy and support of MedRef, the pharmacy assistant will execute the pharmacy storing activities in order to keep the pharmacy stock above security level and following recommended conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) under the supervision of the Pharmacy Supervisor, and in collaboration with the logistics team.
Responsibilities
Order and Supply Management:
Responsible for the movement of medical supplies within the pharmacy, the activities include:
Receive medical supplies and identify potential disparities against cargo manifest (delivery note).
Dispatch medical supplies to the health facilities according to their needs.
Ensure correct entry of in and out movements of medical supplies on the stock cards and software in use by ALIMA.
Assist the stock keeper of the hospital in preparing and ordering for different consumption units (delivery room, wards and other), ensuring the packaging and proper dispatching. reporting any abnormalities or changes in consumption patterns to the Pharmacy Supervisor. Inform the Pharmacy Supervisor as soon as stock reaches alert limit.
Carry out or participate in regular inventories including EPREP stock.
Report missing material/ damage/ robbery.
Control the warehouse limited access to authorized personnel and ensure doors and other exits are secured.
Ensures good storage conditions of all items in the pharmacy. It includes:
Monitor temperature in the warehouse and ensure that products requiring cold chain are suitably stored and transports received and prepared appropriately according to ALIMA Supply and Cold Chain protocols.
Ensure cleanliness of premises (stock pharmacy).
If applicable, maintain refrigerating equipment in close collaboration with the logistics department.
Follow up stock levels with regards to alarms thresholds, stock out, expiry dates and drugs to expire in the following 6 months. Report to the Pharmacy Supervisor.
Pharmacy Management:
Work closely with the hospital stock keeper to ensure the good performance of inventory sheets by including all the necessary information according to the procedure put in place with the Pharmacy Supervisor.
Ensure that all inventory management tools are updated on a monthly basis and filed.
Participate with the hospital stock keeper in the regular inventory with the Pharmacy Supervisor.
Ensure that drugs and other consumables respect the principle of FIFO.
Ensure that each exit of drugs and consumables is done with the agreement of the Pharmacy Supervisor.
Organization, Cleanliness and Security of the Stock:
Ensures storage and cleanliness of the stock.
Store drugs and consumables in the good condition of the stock (physical place) and shelves, and if necessary, refer any problems to the pharmacy supervisor.
Remains physically present in the pharmacy, especially when there is someone inside (except Pharmacy Supervisor).
Controls access to the pharmacy and ensures the proper closing of doors and other exits.
Report any disappearances or traces of violation as soon as possible.
Ensure there are no leaks in the store and no signs of insects or pests (security).
N.B: The responsibilities mentioned above are not exhaustive and other work may be requested depending on the needs of daily work.

Requirements
Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy or equivalent in drugs and medical management or related fields
Must have 1 -2 years of specialized experience in pharmacy storekeeper, drugs manager and or medical storekeeper.
Experience in cool chain and blood bank management.
Experience with medical international NGO, an asset
Experience in a similar position for at least 2 years.
Demonstrated experience on pharmacy store and skills.
Perfect knowledge of Saga, MS Office package, especially Excel & Word
Languages- fluent -English oral & written. Mandatory and local language of the region-Hausa etc

Conditions
Contract term: contract under Nigeria Law, 6 months’ renewable.
