Job Title: Technical Sales & Services Engineer

Job Summary
The Technical Sales & Services Engineeris responsible for driving technical sales, delivering engineering support services, and providing after-sales technical solutions to clients.
The role combines business development, client relationship management, and hands-on technical field service across industrial automation, analytical systems, instrumentation, and electrical/mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development:
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Identify new sales prospects and follow up on leads and referrals.
Generate sales inquiries and respond to RFQs (Requests for Quotation).
Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
Follow up on submitted quotations, specification clarifications, and invoices.
Promote company products and represented brands via emails, cold calls, client visits, and presentations.
Develop and maintain sales and marketing materials.
Provide content management support for company websites and e-commerce platforms.
Liaise with sales team members and technical experts to ensure accurate solutions delivery.
Technical Support & Services:
Provide pre-sales and after-sales technical support and product education to clients.
Install, configure, commission, calibrate, test, maintain, and troubleshoot:
Field & Process Instruments
Analytical & Detection Instruments
Laboratory & Quality Control Instruments
PLCs, Drives & Industrial Automation Systems
Provide testing, diagnostics, and reliability services on electrical and mechanical systems.
Interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory authorities as required.
Reporting & Compliance:
Report effectively to line managers and supervisors.
Keep accurate service logs and prepare written and verbal reports of work performed.
Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
Maintain documentation related to installations, maintenance, and client engagements.
Requirements
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.Eng./B.Sc.) or HND in:
Electrical/Electronic Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Mechatronics Engineering
Instrumentation & Control Engineering
Chemical Engineering
Industrial Engineering
Or related engineering discipline
Professional Certifications (Advantageous)
COREN registration (or in progress)
NSE membership
OEM certifications in PLCs, Drives, or Analytical Instruments
HSE Certification (Level 1–3)
PMP or Sales certification (added advantage).
Experience
Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in:
Technical sales within industrial, oil & gas, manufacturing, or automation sectors
Field service engineering (instrumentation, automation, or analytical systems)
Experience handling RFQs, tender documentation, and technical proposals
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets (advantageous).
Technical Competencies:
Strong knowledge of:
Industrial instrumentation & control systems
PLC programming and troubleshooting
Industrial automation systems
Analytical and laboratory instruments
Electrical & mechanical systems diagnostics
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Familiarity with CRM systems and e-commerce platforms
Basic knowledge of digital marketing/content management (advantage).
