Job Title: Technical Furniture Designer

Job Summary

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Technical Furniture Designer to develop innovative, functional, and manufacturable designs for furniture, cabinetry, and bespoke wood joinery projects.
• The ideal candidate will combine strong creative ability with technical expertise, translating design concepts into precise shop drawings and production-ready documentation.
• This role requires close collaboration with production teams to ensure feasibility, cost-efficiency, and quality execution.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Development:

• Develop detailed technical drawings, shop drawings, and 3D models for furniture, cabinetry, and bespoke wood joinery projects.
• Translate design briefs and client concepts into accurate, production-ready documentation.
• Prepare cutting lists, specifications, and installation details to support manufacturing.

Software & Visualization:

• Utilize CAD and 3D modeling tools including Revit, V-Ray, Blender, and other relevant design software to create high-quality visualizations and working drawings.
• Modify and optimize designs based on site measurements, structural requirements, and production constraints.

Production Collaboration:

• Work closely with carpenters, machinists, and production supervisors to ensure design feasibility.
• Support prototype development and resolve technical design challenges during fabrication.
• Conduct site visits where necessary to verify measurements and installation conditions.

Material & Technical Specifications:

• Recommend appropriate wood types, hardware, finishes, and fittings based on functionality, durability, and client preferences.
• Ensure designs align with woodworking standards, joinery techniques, and manufacturing best practices.

Project Coordination:

• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting agreed timelines.
• Ensure accuracy, quality control, and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in furniture design or wood joinery production.
• Strong proficiency in Revit, Blender, V-Ray, and other CAD/design software.
• Solid understanding of woodworking processes, joinery methods, and material selection.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and convert them into production drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Salary Range
N250,000 – N450,000 (Depending on Experience)
