Background
We are seeking a natural, creative thinker who communicates ideas that inspire, enjoys developing new and exciting content ideas for digital, design, and online campaigns.
You will be part of the Yiaga Africa IT team and will contribute to designing work, creative ideas, and concepts.
He/She will join the website design, content curation, creative digital features using new technologies, as well as engaging content in the form of visual concepts, words, image content, and any relevant creativity mix to ensure Yiaga Africa’s messages successfully reach its intended audience. and raise the profile and impact of the organisation.

The position is for six (6) months, subject to renewal based on performance and funding availability. The post holder would be expected to work 40 hours a week. The position has a competitive salary as obtainable in the industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
Contributing to all corporate and programme design work elements while upholding corporate and national brand guidelines.
Support thematic digital campaigns around elections, reforms, civic education, and policy advocacy.
Creating content for Yiaga Africa’s websites, publications, and social media channels; reviewing and updating these platforms regularly while identifying and developing compelling stories, impact narratives, and civic education opportunities.
Translate research reports, policy documents, and programme outputs into accessible digital content formats.
Support the design of interactive digital formats (polls, quizzes, live Q&As, civic explainers).
Ensure digital designs are optimised for a range of devices, including desktops, smartphones, and tablets
Monitoring the Yiaga Africa social media accounts and working with the Communications Manager to pre-plan content for these channels.
Using specialist knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation and Google Analytics continuously improves the organisation's digital presence
Assisting with providing digital coverage at Yiaga Africa events, including promotion on social media, and developing video and written records of key events.
Support rapid-response content during elections, policy developments, or crisis moments.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of the external operating environment and respond to advancements in technology and working practices
Maintain and manage a structured digital content calendar aligned with programme activities and commemorations.
Any other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
Degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience is required.
Proven graphic design experience
A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Coreldraw)
A keen eye for aesthetics and details
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
Language Requirements:
Fluency in written and spoken English. Proficiency in French and/or any other language will be a plus.
