Job Title: Project Quality Assurance Engineer
Location: Lagos
Description
As our Project Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all solar energy projects meet quality standards, industry regulations, and company specifications.
This role involves conducting inspections, implementing quality control processes, identifying non-conformities, and driving continuous improvement to ensure the reliability and efficiency of solar power installations.
You will:
Develop and implement quality control procedures for solar PV system installations.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEC, SON, NERC) and company policies.
Conduct regular audits to verify adherence to safety and performance guidelines.
Perform pre-installation, in-progress, and post-installation inspections of solar systems.
Test electrical, mechanical, and structural components to verify functionality.
Document defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Work with contractors and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Identify areas for process improvement and recommend best practices.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality reports.
Identify potential risks in project execution and suggest mitigation strategies.
Assist in troubleshooting system performance issues and resolving quality concerns.
Work with engineers and technicians to implement corrective measures.
Train field teams and contractors on quality standards, safety protocols, and best installation practices.
Coordinate with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, regulatory representatives and field teams to ensure that projects are done correctly .
Conduct surveillance/audit of contractor quality control programs
Participate in design and specification reviews for solar projects.
Requirements and Skills
You’ll be a good fit for this role if:
You have a background in Computer / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
You are an engineer at heart and in practice.
You have 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, project inspection, or solar PV system evaluation.
You have experience with solar inverters, charge controllers, battery storage, and energy management systems.
You have Quality Assurance/Quality Control certification (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma).
You have a strong understanding of solar PV technology, electrical standards, and quality control methods.
You have proficiency in using testing tools for electrical and mechanical system evaluations.
You pay attention to detail and have the ability to identify defects or system inefficiencies.
You have experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting teamwork mentality
