One Acre, founded in 2006, supplies smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms more productive. We provide quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural trainings to improve harvests. We measure our success by our ability to make farmers more prosperous: On average, farmers harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund. We serve more than 800,000 farm families in Eastern and Southern Africa, with more than 7,500 full-time staff, and we aim to serve 1 million farm families by 2020.

Job Title: Nigeria Talent Acquisition Associate

About The Role
The Nigeria Talent Acquisition Associate is responsible for proactively building pools of talent for the country program with the ultimate aim of a) Increasing hire quality and b) reducing the time it takes to hire that talent. They will pursue a comprehensive talent strategy for the Nigeria program that will include networking, young talent programs, attending high value events and more.
The TA Associate will work very closely with the country program to better understand their talent needs. The customer (Nigeria Program) will consider the Talent Acquisition Associate to be the key business partner on the Recruitment team and a key part of program success.
Responsibilities
Business Partner Relationship Owner for Nigeria Program:
Close integration within the Nigeria program to understand their hiring needs
Participation in talent committees and other leadership groups
Active involvement in forecasting for new hires
‘Go to Gemba’ with department heads to understand the work that they do
A willingness to commit to living in Minna for the full first year..
Proactively Build Pools of Talent:
Follow all talent avenues to build pools of talent that can be used to fill upcoming open roles
Participation in events and other networking to build a portfolio of contacts across the country
Pursue contacts in diaspora groups to bring talent back to OAF
Identify employers and universities whose staff/students have the skills we need for the future
Manage internship / Graduate Programs:
Build relationships with the top universities in the country to develop an intern or graduate program that will bring young talent into OAF.
Reduce the need for external hiring through the use of interns/grads who are converted to full time staf
Reduce overall ‘Time to Hire’ for the Nigeria Program:
A key indicator of success for the TA role is the overall ‘time to hire’ for the program. Reducing this number indicates that the talent strategy is working
Another key KPI to measure success in this role is ‘Time it took the successful applicant to apply.” If talent pools are up and running, this number should go down significantly.

Technical Skills:
Networking: Has an existing network of local contacts and is comfortable establishing new contacts
Brand Positioning: Demonstrate the ability to sell the brand One Acre Fund as an employer of choice.
Customer Service: Meets our customers where they are and invests in understanding their needs and challenges.
Talent Identification: Can combine customer needs with skillsets that typically thrive at OAF and can convert those into candidates who do well at our organization.
Ability to work independently: The TA Associate will need to build their own portfolio of talent and must be able to deal with some ambiguity in their work.
People Management experience.
