Job Title: Regional Sales Manager
Location: South-Eastern Nigeria
Department: Sales
Reports To: National Sales Manager
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets for chocolate drinks, chocolate bars, 3-in-1 ready-to-drink beverages, vegetable oil, and seasoning cubes/powders within the South-Eastern region of Nigeria.
Conduct market analysis to identify sales opportunities, track competitor activities, and adopt sales tactics to maximize sales growth in the South-Eastern region.
Monitor and review sales performance, adjusting strategies to meet region-specific goals and objectives.
Team Leadership & Development:
Manage, coach, and mentor the regional sales team, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet sales targets.
Set clear performance objectives and provide continuous feedback to ensure the team remains motivated and focused.
Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the team’s product knowledge and sales capabilities.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and wholesalers in the South-Eastern region of Nigeria.
Ensure effective communication with customers regarding product promotions, pricing strategies, and service delivery.
Identify and address customer concerns, providing solutions to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Market Intelligence & Reporting:
Gather and analyze market intelligence to identify growth opportunities and threats in the South-Eastern Nigerian market.
Prepare detailed sales reports and forecasts for regional performance, sharing insights with senior management to guide decision-making.
Identify new business opportunities and drive the expansion of product lines across the South-Eastern region.
Sales Target Management & Reporting:
Ensure sales targets for all assigned products are met or exceeded in the South-Eastern region.
Regularly report on sales performance, market trends, and team progress against targets, focusing on the South-Eastern Nigerian market dynamics.
Promotions & Product Launches
Work closely with marketing teams to plan and execute product launches, promotions, and events in South-Eastern Nigeria to drive sales.
Ensure regional teams are aligned with promotional campaigns and implement them effectively to increase market share and brand visibility.
Distribution & Supply Chain Management:
Coordinate with logistics and distribution teams to ensure products are delivered on time and inventory levels meet market demand.
Monitor stock levels at regional warehouses, ensuring timely replenishment to avoid stockouts.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or any related field. An MBA is an added advantage.
Experience: 7-10 years of sales experience in the FMCG sector, with a proven track record in managing regional sales teams and driving sales growth in South-Eastern Nigeria.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a sales team to achieve high performance in South-Eastern Nigeria.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English and knowledge of local languages (e.g., Igbo, Pidgin) is a plus.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and interpret sales data.
Customer Focus: Strong customer orientation, with the ability to build and sustain strong customer relationships across the South-Eastern region.
Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), CRM software, and sales reporting tools.
Driving License: A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within Southern Nigeria.
