Ishk Tolaram Foundation (ITF), Founded in 2016, is a philanthropic organization that provides access to quality education, healthcare, and skills training to underserved individuals in Indonesia, Nigeria, and Singapore. Our purpose is to enable individuals to improve their quality of life.
In Nigeria, ITF focuses on two program areas: health and skilling. The health programs offer pro bono and subsidized assistive technology (limbs and hearing aids) to underserved people. Our skilling programs provide access to quality training to enhance unemployed youth's ability to secure jobs or earn livelihoods.

About the Role
We seek a motivated Communications Specialist with strong content strategy and social impact experience. The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise in producing diverse digital and print materials.
Reporting to the Headquarter and Program Directors, this role is pivotal in amplifying our mission, reinforcing our brand, and cultivating relationships with stakeholders, donors, government, and the community.

This role leads all communications, media relations, content creation, and community engagement initiatives in Nigeria, while actively shaping campaigns, developing program-centric messaging, and ensuring integrated strategies deliver a high-impact, consistent presence across channels.
A key aspect is close collaboration with the Program Directors and teams on strategic, integrated content, brand messaging, and public profiling to position the philanthropy’s impact as a thought leader in its space.
The role requires strong people leadership, cross-functional partnership, and operational excellence to advance the Foundation’s work. The successful candidate will oversee the Communications Officer to achieve our communications goals.
Responsibilities
Lead and execute the country’s communications strategy:
Develop and execute strategic marketing and communications plans, including digital cause-marketing and advertising across multiple platforms, to drive engagement and advance organizational goals.
Formulate and execute outreach strategies specific to each program focus area.
Create and edit brief video content for utilization on social media platforms and in cause-marketing campaigns.
Cultivate and manage compelling social media content, encompassing posts, articles, graphic designs, and video assets, with the objective of fostering an active online community.
Support brand representation by internal and external stakeholders:
Drive and manage accurate written and visual representation of the Foundation internally and externally
Develop program-centered storytelling, brand management, and integrated marketing strategies for internal and external events, like graduation ceremonies, mobile camps, etc.
Support team members in being effective brand ambassadors
Review and endorse brand representation by stakeholders, i.e., partners, media, and Tolaram entities
Develop relevant connections to support communication work:
Cultivate press and media relations to increase institutional and program visibility
Build and deepen the Foundation’s engagements within the Nigerian social impact ecosystem through speaking and impact-sharing opportunities with affinity organisation systems
Support the organization’s communication administration:
Support the onboarding of new employees in Nigeria in line with the global onboarding process
Support physical branding needs, e.g., infrastructure, wearables, stationery, ID cards
Collate and report quarterly impact accurately to HQ
Conduct periodic training of team members on branding and communication
Develop communications expertise within the local context:
Attend approved conferences and educational opportunities to upgrade knowledge and skills related to Ishk’s purpose and focus areas in Nigeria
Keep abreast of local current trends and research in social impact communications to inform strategy
Represent the Foundation to share about our work at relevant fora and events
Academic / Work Experience
Minimum Education Level: University Graduate
Minimum of 5 years of senior communications, public relations, and community engagement experience, ideally in a nonprofit
Demonstrated expertise in social impact-centered storytelling
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills with strong attention to detail and professionalism
Highly creative collaborator with expertise in storytelling, content development, and brand- aligned messaging
Accomplished marketing and communications professional with a proven track record leading creative processes for diverse audiences
Proven ability to cultivate and manage strategic relationships with diverse stakeholders (including executive leaders, partners, donors, media, and community organizations) to drive alignment and amplify the organization's social impact
Strategic, mission-driven thinker with a strong focus on donor-centered outcomes and measurable results
Deep, hands-on experience in designing collateral (fliers, etc) and creating social media content.
Proven proficiency in design and video editing/short-form video creation (CapCut, iMovie, Canva, Adobe Express)
Demonstrated experience in social media management and analytics.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
simultaneously.
Good command of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
