Job Title: HMO Billing Officer

Location: Ikorodu, Lagos

Job Summary

• We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HMO Billing Officer to manage HMO billing processes, claims submission, and reconciliation.
• The HMO Billing Officer will be responsible for preparing, submitting, tracking, and reconciling all HMO claims to ensure timely payment and compliance with HMO policies. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of HMO billing processes, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate HMO claims in a timely manner
• Verify patient eligibility and HMO coverage before service delivery
• Ensure proper documentation and coding of services for claims submission
• Follow up with HMOs on outstanding claims and payments
• Reconcile HMO accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain accurate billing records and documentation
• Liaise with HMOs, hospital departments, and finance team for billing-related issues
• Ensure compliance with HMO billing procedures and hospital policies
• Generate reports on claims status, payments, and outstanding balances
• Support audits and provide required billing documentation

Requirements and Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Health Information Management, Business Administration, or related field
• 2–4 years of experience in HMO billing or hospital billing
• Strong understanding of HMO processes and medical billing procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Good analytical and reconciliation skills
• Strong communication and follow-up skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hospital billing software.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a hospital environment
• Knowledge of NHIA and private HMO billing systems
• Experience with healthcare management software.
