The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is the primary Official Development Assistance (ODA) agency of the Government of the Republic of Korea. Since its establishment in 1991, KOICA has implemented bilateral grant aid programs to support sustainable socio-economic development in partner developing countries, contributing to poverty reduction and improved quality of life. The KOICA Nigeria Office, opened in 2008, has been providing development assistance through grant aid and the implementation of socio-economic development programs across Nigeria. The office is located in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Assistant Manager
Location: Asokoro, Abuja

Duties and Responsibilities
Project management:
Support the implementation and overall coordination of bilateral and multilateral development cooperation projects, facilitating effective communication and collaboration with government counterparts, implementing partners, and other key stakeholders.
Assist in the planning and coordination of feasibility studies and in-depth surveys for the development of new projects.
Contribute to the preparation of Project Concept Papers and other key project documents, and perform additional project management-related tasks as required.
Management of Human Resource Development (Fellowship) Programs:
Support the implementation of various fellowship programs including but not limited to invitational training, country-specific training, scholarship (Masters & Doctorate) programs and other related tasks.
Support the management of KOICA’s Alumni Association; the South Korea International Cooperation Association of Nigeria (SKICAN) activities in Nigeria.
Public Relations Management:
Management of KOICA Nigeria Office social media platforms, media relations, and press publications.
Performance of Administrative Tasks
Drafting of meeting minutes, Sector specific research reports, Speeches for Country Director, Official letters etc.
Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the Country Director
Qualification
All of the following qualifications are required:
Bachelor’s Degree in International Development, International Relations, Public Administration, or related fields: 3 years or more project experience in KOICA’s priority sectors of Education, Health, Governance Peace, Agriculture, Rural Development and Science, Technology, Innovation (STI)
Master’s Degree or higher in International Development, International Relations, Public Administration, or related fields: 2 years or more project experience in KOICA’s priority sectors of Education, Health, Governance Peace, Agriculture, Rural Development and Science, Technology, Innovation (STI)
Other non-related Bachelor’s degree : 5 years or more project experience in KOICA’s priority sectors of Education, Health, Governance Peace, Agriculture, Rural Development and Science, Technology, Innovation (STI)
High level of computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Applicants must be under 35 years of age at the time of application submission.
Candidates possessing the following criteria are desirable:
Possession of PRINCE 2 Foundation, PRINCE 2 Practitioner, or PMP certification
Experience working with Korean government-funded projects/programs
Experience working with multi/bilateral development agencies.
Demonstrated experience in handling public relations activities
Fellowship experience, either as a beneficiary (participant) in a fellowship program or in a coordination/management role.

Communication: Speaks and writes clearly and effectively in English; Interprets public policies and roles of each stakeholder; Interacts appropriately with a variety of stakeholders in both public and private sectors.
Professionalism: Mobilize resources effectively in project/program management; Is conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments, observing deadlines, and achieving results; Shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges; remains calm in stressful situations; Delivers results on time without compromising quality standards; Takes responsibility for incorporating gender perspectives and ensuring the equal participation of women and men in all areas of work; Willing to travel within Nigeria or abroad to manage assigned projects/programs.

Length of service: One-year fixed-term contract renewable after evaluation (After successful completion of the Probationary Period).
Special Notice:
The probationary period shall be three (3) months initially, with the possibility of an extension for an additional three (3) months, up to a maximum of six (6) months in total. (During the probationary period, 90% of agreed contract salary is payable.)
Following the probationary period, the employee’s appointment may be confirmed or the contract terminated, based on performance and subject to the decision of the Country Director KOICA Nigeria Office
