About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team in Enugu.
This is not a conventional finance role.
While financial stewardship sits at the core of your mandate, you will operate as a key growth architect, bridging financial operations with capital strategy, investor engagement, and business development.
You will be the financial backbone and frontline representative of our company's growth story.
From ensuring impeccable books to closing investment deals that fund our next chapter, the CFO role demands a rare combination of analytical rigor, executive presence, and entrepreneurial drive.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership and Operations:
Own end-to-end financial management including accounting, audits, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Ensure strict compliance with Nigerian tax laws, FIRS regulations, CAMA requirements, and all relevant statutory obligations.
Design and maintain robust internal controls, financial policies, and risk management frameworks.
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, delivering timely and accurate management accounts.
Oversee payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and treasury functions with precision and accountability.
Investor Scouting and Capital Raising:
Proactively identify, qualify, and build relationships with potential investors — including angel investors, VCs, PE firms, and strategic partners both locally and internationally.
Develop compelling investment memoranda, pitch decks, financial models, and due diligence documentation to support fundraising efforts.
Lead and coordinate investor meetings, negotiations, and deal structuring in collaboration with the CEO and Board.
Earn performance-based commission for every successfully closed investment round you originate or facilitate — a direct reward for your hustle and results.
Monitor investor relations post-close, ensuring reporting obligations and relationship continuity are maintained.
Strategic Business Partnering:
Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO, Board, and department heads, translating numbers into actionable business intelligence.
Drive strategic financial planning, scenario analysis, and KPI frameworks that guide company-wide decision-making.
Evaluate business opportunities, partnerships, and expansion initiatives from a financial viability perspective.
Support commercial negotiations, pricing strategy, and contract structuring with data-backed insights.
Stakeholder and Regulatory Management:
Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
Liaise with legal counsel on corporate governance, financing agreements, and compliance matters.
Prepare board-level financial presentations and contribute to overall corporate strategy.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Master's degree (MBA or MSc Finance) is a strong advantage.

Demonstrated experience in capital raising, investor relations, or financial business development is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations, tax frameworks (FIRS, LIRS), and IFRS accounting standards.
Proficiency in financial modelling, accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero), and advanced Excel.
Competencies and Traits:
Strategic thinker with the commercial acumen to connect financial data to business outcomes.
Confident networker with the presence and communication skills to engage C-level executives and investors.
Entrepreneurial mindset - energised by targets, motivated by results, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
Highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
