About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Subsea & Pipeline CAD Designer to lead the development of high-quality CAD drawings and 3D models supporting offshore subsea and pipeline projects.
This role is responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and well-controlled engineering documentation across FEED, detailed design, fabrication, installation, and as-built phases.
The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of upstream offshore experience with strong expertise in subsea layouts, pipeline systems, tie-ins, umbilicals, and installation support drawings.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to complex offshore developments, ensuring technical accuracy, installation readiness, and long-term asset reliability.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality CAD drafting, modelling, and engineering documentation support for subsea hardware, structures, pipelines, umbilicals, and associated systems.
Ensure drafting deliverables are accurate, consistent, and compliant with project standards, engineering requirements, and industry codes.
Work closely with Subsea Hardware Engineers, Pipeline Engineers, and Systems Engineers to interpret engineering data and convert into CAD deliverables.
Incorporate specifications, and equipment vendor information into drawings.
Support subsea equipment configuration management and iterative design development through all project phases.
Maintain drawing registers, metadata, revisions, and change tracking.
Manage CAD file organization and ensure compatibility with project platforms.
Update drawings based on: Installation contractor redlines, Fabrication yard mark-ups, Offshore site changes and as-built reports etc.
Support offshore teams with drawing clarifications where necessary

Pipeline System Drawings:
Pipeline Routing & Alignment Sheets: Horizontal and vertical profiles showing seabed topography and pipeline route.
Pipeline Isometric Drawings: Detailed spool and joint configurations.
Crossing Details: Drawings for pipeline crossings over existing infrastructure.
Expansion Loop Layouts: For thermal expansion management.
Pigging System Integration: Pig launcher/receiver interface drawings.
Pipeline Approach: Field to FPSO
Subsea Structures & Layout (topside-to-seabed):
General Arrangement (GA) Drawings: Layout of manifolds, PLETs (Pipeline End Terminations), PLEMs (Pipeline End Manifolds).
Structural Detail Drawings: Weld details, pad eyes, lifting points.
Foundation & Mudmat Drawings: Soil interaction and stability details.
ROV Access Drawings: Clearances for intervention tools.
Layout: Field Layout, drill centre layout, cluster layout, subsea layout with/and without geophysical formations
Umbilicals & Control Systems:
Umbilical Routing Drawings: Path from FPSO to subsea distribution units.
Umbilical Termination Assembly (UTA) Drawings: Connection details for hydraulic/electrical lines.
Junction Box Layouts: For electrical and fiber optic terminations.
Bend Restrictor & Stiffener Details: Compliance with minimum bend radius.
Tie-in SystemsSubsea tie-in interface drawings:
Tie-in Spool Drawings: Dimensional details for spools connecting pipelines to manifolds.
Connector Interface Drawings: Hub profiles and gasket details.
Jumper drawings
Installation Sequence Drawings: Step-by-step visuals for subsea tie-in operations.
Process & Instrumentation:
P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams): For manifolds, pigging systems, and control modules.
Hydraulic Schematics: Control fluid routing and valve actuation.
Electrical Schematics: Power and signal distribution.

3D Models:
Integrated Subsea Layout Model: Full field layout including pipelines, structures, and umbilicals.
Clash Detection Models: For verifying clearances and avoiding interference.

Component Fabrication Drawings: For manifolds, frames, and supports.
Assembly Drawings: For subsea modules and skid packages.

As-Built Documentation:
As-Built GA Drawings: Reflecting final installed condition.
Survey Drawings: Post-installation pipeline and structure positions.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent, preferably in Subsea Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in upstream E&P projects, with strong exposure to offshore design and execution environments.
Familiarity with major operators and OEM contractors.
Excellent attention to detail
Good communication with multidiscipline teams
Ability to manage workload and prioritize deliverables
Strong quality-focus and documentation discipline
