Job Title: Mathematics Teacher

Locations: Rupokwu, Woji GRA and Artillery - Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• A Mathematics Teacher is responsible for teaching students mathematical concepts, problem-solving skills, and logical reasoning.
• The teacher prepares lesson plans, delivers classroom instruction, assesses students’ progress, and helps students develop a strong understanding of mathematics.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver mathematics lessons according to the school curriculum.
• Teach mathematical topics such as algebra, geometry, statistics, arithmetic, and trigonometry depending on the class level.
• Prepare lesson notes, assignments, and examinations.
• Assess and evaluate students’ academic performance through tests, quizzes, and class work.
• Provide extra support to students who have difficulty understanding mathematical concepts.
• Maintain discipline and a conducive learning environment in the classroom.
• Use teaching aids and modern teaching methods to make lessons engaging.
• Record and report students’ progress to school management and parents when required.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and school activities.
• Ensure students develop analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Mathematics teachers typically work in primary or secondary schools and may teach multiple classes daily.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree / NCE in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Teaching experience is an added advantage.
• Good communication and classroom management skills.
• Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to explain complex ideas in a simple way.
