Job Title: Cost Accountant

Job Summary

• The Cost Accountant is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling production costs within the diaper manufacturing process.
• The role ensures accurate product costing, inventory valuation, cost optimization, and financial reporting to support efficient manufacturing operations and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain standard cost sheets for products and raw materials.
• Analyze production costs, including raw materials (SAP, pulp, nonwoven fabric, etc), labour, packaging, and overheads.
• Conduct variance analysis between actual and standard costs.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities in manufacturing processes.
• Monitor daily and monthly production costs.
• Track material consumption rates and wastage.
• Work closely with production and procurement teams to control costs.
• Ensure accurate allocation of factory overheads.
• Maintain accurate records of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
• Conduct periodic inventory reconciliation and stock counts.
• Monitor slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
• Ensure proper inventory valuation in compliance with accounting standards.
• Support preparation of manufacturing budgets and cost forecasts.
• Analyze deviations between budgeted and actual costs.
• Provide financial insights for production planning.
• Prepare cost reports for management review.
• Provide cost breakdown for different diaper product lines.
• Assist in pricing decisions and profitability analysis.
• Improve cost accounting systems and reporting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• 3–6 years of experience in cost accounting within manufacturing, preferably FMCG or diaper manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP systems and inventory management systems.
