Job Summary

• The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental policies within the manufacturing facility to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and to promote a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and workplace audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to manufacturing operations.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with preventive recommendations.
• Conduct safety induction and periodic training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure adherence to safety practices on the production floor.
• Maintain HSE documentation, records, and reports including incident logs, safety inspection reports, and training records.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures, including fire drills, evacuation drills, and first aid preparedness.
• Ensure proper waste management and environmental protection practices within the facility.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and ensure compliance with statutory safety requirements.
• Promote a safety culture within the organization through awareness campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience as an HSE Officer in a manufacturing environment.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices in manufacturing industries.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to conduct safety trainings and risk assessments.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
