The PATH4AIPOCUS Project is a three-year initiative funded by the Gates Foundation. The project aligns with national and global Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Nutrition Health (MNCNH) priorities by supporting the development, validation, and scale-up of Artificial Intelligence–enabled Point-of-Care Ultrasound (AI-POCUS) within antenatal care (ANC) services in Nigeria.
The project aims to generate robust evidence on health system readiness—including service delivery regulations, policy alignment, competency frameworks, financing mechanisms, and implementation feasibility—to inform sustainable integration of AI-enabled POCUS into routine maternal healthcare in resource-constrained settings.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Project Officer
Location: Benin, Edo

Position Summary
The Project Officer (Desk Officer) will provide technical and operational support for the PATH4AIPOCUS grant. Working under the supervision of the project coordinator and reporting to the Project Director, the Project Officer will support project design, implementation, monitoring, reporting, proposal development, and stakeholder coordination.
He will be the chief logistics officer of the grant and also be responsible for maintain the project office, keeping records and arranging various meetings and engagements.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong managerial skills, analytical thinking, proposal implementation capacity, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Research Support:
Provide technical support to project teams across ongoing research and implementation initiatives.
Conduct desk reviews, and background research to inform project design and reporting.
Utilize appropriate statistical and qualitative software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R, NVivo, Atlas.ti, Dedoose, Power BI) to analyze and interpret data.
Contribute to high-quality technical reports and policy briefs.
Monitor the achievements of deliverables
Project Implementation & Monitoring:
Support implementation of project activities, including coordination and logistics.
Monitor project milestones and deliverables to ensure alignment with donor expectations.
Assist in tracking key performance indicators and reporting progress against targets.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for compliance and audit purposes.
Arrange the meetings and prepare minutes of such meetings
Stakeholder & Partner Coordination:
Support the Project Lead in liaising with implementing partners and research collaborators.
Participate in technical meetings and contribute to strategic and operational planning processes.
Facilitate smooth collaboration between internal teams and external stakeholders.
Contribute to brainstorming and idea generation for the smooth running of the grant
Communications & Content Strategy Support:
Support the planning and execution of digital content strategies across professional platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram).
Assist in drafting engaging content, monitoring audience engagement, and analyzing performance metrics.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain consistent brand messaging and enhance organizational visibility.
Organizational Support:
Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning discussions.
Ensure alignment between project activities, institutional priorities, and donor requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Technical Manager or Chief Executive Officer.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, computer science or other related discipline.
Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in research, project implementation, or development programming.
Demonstrated experience in data analysis and technical report writing.
Experience supporting donor-funded projects is an advantage.
Deep computer knowledge and use of artificial intelligence is an added advantage.
