About the Role

• Nexus Grid is a cybersecurity consulting and managed services firmoperatingacross the UK and Nigeria. We are expanding our Security Operations Centre and are looking for a Level 3 SOC Analyst to take ownership of complex investigations, lead incident response, and help shape the technical standards of the team.
• This is a senior technical role. The right person has moved beyond alert triage and is comfortable leading investigations under pressure, building detection capability, and mentoring the analysts around them. Role Description

• This is a full-time hybrid role for a Level 3 SOC Analyst based in Lagos. The role requires overseeing daily Security Operations Center (SOC) activities, conducting cyber threat hunting (CTH), and analyzing cybersecurity incidents.
• The analyst will develop and apply cyber threat intelligence (CTI) to improve incident detection, response, and prevention strategies.
• While the role is primarily based on-site in Lagos, some work-from-home flexibility is offered.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead investigation and response to high-severity security incidents
• Perform advanced threat hunting and forensic analysis
• Analyse SIEM, EDR, and network logs to identify sophisticated threats
• Develop and improve detection rules and SOC playbooks
• Conduct root cause analysis and produce incident reports
• Mentor Level 1 and Level 2 SOC analysts
• Work directly with clients and internal teams during live incidents
• Participate in tabletop simulations and incident readiness exercises
• Recommend improvements to client security posture based on findings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Cyber Threat Hunting (CTH) and Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI).
• Proficiency in operating within a Security Operations Center and applying cybersecurity principles.
• Excellent Analytical Skills with a proven ability to investigate, comprehend, and resolve complex security events.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards, frameworks, and best practices.
• Knowledge of network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security
• Experience in log analysis, packet analysis, and digital forensics
• Clear, accurate incident documentation and reporting
• Willingness to work a shift pattern including occasional weekends
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, demonstrating self-discipline and time management skills.

Nice to Have:

• Certifications: GCIA, GCED, GCIH, CISSP, or CEH
