Job Title: Assistant Digital Producer (Nigeria)

Reports to: Senior Radio Producer
Job Purpose
The BBC Media Action office in Nigeria is seeking an Assistant Digital Producer to support multimedia production for a multi-component Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) programme focused on reproductive health and child spacing in Northern Nigeria.
The Assistant Digital Producer will contribute to the production of radio and digital outputs across genres. Reporting to the Digital Producer, the Assistant Producer Multimedia will be responsible for ideation and creation of impactful radio and digital content that meets BBC quality and editorial standards.
The Assistant Digital Producer will work with the other members of the production and training department to produce high-quality radio and digital outputs.
The Assistant Producer will be responsible for ensuring that the produced outputs fulfil the thematic objectives whilst having the greatest possible appeal to the target audience[s].
The Assistant Digital Producer will contribute to the entire digital production process, from concept development through final product delivery.
The Assistant Digital Producer will play a key role in planning, conducting and recording interviews, discussions and other content for BBC Media Action’s digital productions.
The role reports to the Digital Producer and will work closely with other producers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Contribute towards the effective implementation of BBC Media Action’s digital strategy.
Create social content, including original social videos, multimedia assets, and BBC Media Action editorial content.
Schedule digital content on BBC Media Action's social media platforms [in Hausa and English/pidgin].
Posting of social media content on BBC Media Action digital platforms in line with the daily/weekly schedules.
Work towards achieving the highest levels of traction, reach and engagement possible on BBCMedia Action social media platforms.
Analyse referral and in-platform metrics and give insight into the behaviour of our social media communities.
To use all available technical resources to realise digital programme ideas as effectively and as efficiently as possible.
Work with the digital producer and other members of the Production and Training team to ensure that all digital content meets BBC editorial guidelines.
Contribute towards making BBC Media Action’s digital outputs as creative and impactful as possible to help us remain a leader in a dynamic and evolving media market.
Coordinate and conduct research on themes and ensure all digital content information is accurate, clear and unambiguous.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned.
Required skills, knowledge, and experience
Sound Editorial judgement and demonstrable understanding of BBC editorial values.
Experience in producing content for the web or social media.
Creativity and innovation in the implementation of strategies for individual posts and the management of digital platforms.
A clear, fluent writing style and an ability to produce strong headlines, summaries and promotional texts in English and Pidgin English. Fluency in written Hausa will be an added advantage.
A strong visual sense, experience in picture research and image editing skills.
Video editing skills and fluency in Adobe After Effects or Adobe Premiere Pro.
Strong attention to detail and an ability to work within established deadlines.
A self-starter excited by the potential of working in a small, dynamic and growing team.
Sound knowledge of social media best practices and the social media landscape.
Sound understanding of BBC Media Action’s audience and the relevant market.
Demonstrated knowledge or interest in digital trends in media, entertainment, and emerging technologies.
