Job Title: IT Support Officer

Location: Lagos (Ikoyi / Other Branches as required)

Job Summary

• The IT Support Officer is responsible for maintaining the company’s IT systems, networks, POS systems, and hardware infrastructure to ensure smooth daily operations across theSupamart branches.
• The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining system security, supporting staff with technology needs, and ensuring the reliability of all digital systems used within the supermarket operations.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Support:

• Provide technical support to staff on computers, POS systems, printers, scanners, and network devices.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Respond promptly to IT-related support requests from branches.

POS & Retail System Management:

• Maintain and troubleshoot Point of Sale (POS) machines and software.
• Ensure seamless billing and transaction processing.
• Support the integration between POS systems and inventory management software.

Network & Internet Management:

• Manage the company’s internet connectivity and local network infrastructure.
• Monitor Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and network performance.
• Ensure stable connectivity across all branches.

Hardware Maintenance:

• Maintain computers, printers, barcode scanners, CCTV systems, and other IT equipment.
• Perform regular maintenance and updates of hardware devices.
• Coordinate repair or replacement of faulty equipment.

System Installation & Updates:

• Install and configure software, operating systems, and business applications.
• Ensure systems are regularly updated and protected from vulnerabilities.

Data Security & Backup:

• Implement and monitor data backup procedures.
• Ensure confidential company data and financial records are properly secured.
• Maintain antivirus and cybersecurity measures.

IT Asset Management:

• Maintain an updated inventory of IT assets and equipment.
• Track assignment of devices to staff and branches.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain records of IT issues, maintenance activities, and resolutions.
• Prepare periodic IT support reports for management.

Requirements
Education:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or retail system support.

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of POS systems and retail technology.
• Understanding of network troubleshooting (routers, switches, LAN/WAN).
• Experience with Windows operating systems and software installation.
• Familiarity with basic cybersecurity and data backup procedures.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving ability
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Attention to detail
• Ability to support multiple locations when required

Work Conditions:

• Work schedule may include visits to different branches when required.
• Occasional after-hours support may be required during system failures or upgrades.

Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 / month.
