Job Title: Senior Manager – Product Design
Location: Lagos
Department: TEC – Technology
Reports to: Director – Product Management
Work arrangement: Hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 days remote)
About the Role
How You'll Make an Impact:
We are looking for a strategic and outcome-driven Product Management Manager / Senior Manager to own and scale the product strategy for our software portfolio.
You will be accountable for defining the long-term vision, driving product-market fit, and ensuring our solutions deliver measurable commercial and operational impact. This role goes beyond backlog execution, you will shape what we build, why we build it, and how it positions us as a leader in Africa’s energy transformation.
You will translate market intelligence, customer insights, and business objectives into a coherent product strategy and multi-year roadmap. Partnering closely with Engineering, Commercial, Strategy, and Operations, you will ensure disciplined execution while maintaining a strong focus on value creation, scalability, and differentiation.
What You'll Do
Product Strategy & Portfolio Leadership:
Define and own the product vision, strategic direction, and portfolio roadmap aligned with company growth objectives
Drive product-market fit through deep market research, customer engagement, and competitive intelligence
Make high-impact prioritization decisions balancing customer value, commercial returns, scalability, and technical feasibility
Ensure alignment between product strategy, revenue targets, and operational capabilities
Product Delivery & Cross-Functional Leadership:
Lead cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Commercial, and Operations to deliver high-quality, scalable releases
Oversee backlog governance, release planning, and execution discipline without operating purely at task level
Ensure product documentation, requirements, and specifications meet enterprise-grade standards
Drive accountability for delivery timelines, quality, and measurable business outcomes
Commercial Enablement & Market Positioning:
Partner with Commercial teams to strengthen product positioning, value propositions, and go-to-market strategies
Support strategic client engagements, executive presentations, and complex solution discussions
Ensure product innovations are clearly articulated and translated into tangible customer impact
Data, Performance & Continuous Improvement:
Define and own product KPIs, OKRs, and value-realization metrics
Leverage usage data, financial indicators, and customer feedback to guide strategic decisions
Lead structured post-launch evaluations and ensure continuous optimization of the product portfolio
Managerial Responsibilities:
Define and own the annual operating plan for the function, including workforce and financial planning
Manage and optimize departmental budgets
Make strategic resource allocation decisions
Build, scale, and structure teams to support long-term capability development
Establish performance frameworks, succession planning, and leadership development pathways
Ensure governance, risk management, and operational maturity across the function
Drive the creation of standardized, scalable systems that enable consistent execution across regions
What We're Looking For
Professional & Technical Strength:
Product management experience within SaaS, enterprise software, or complex technology environments, with exposure to portfolio-level ownership
Proven ability to define product strategy and multi-quarter roadmaps aligned with commercial and growth objectives
Strong command of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) with the ability to drive execution discipline across teams
Deep experience translating business and market needs into structured strategic requirements and prioritized backlogs
Data-driven decision-maker with the ability to define product KPIs and leverage analytics to guide strategic trade-offs
Technical fluency to engage confidently with Engineering leadership and challenge architectural decisions when required
Leadership & Interpersonal Strengths:
Ability to collaborate with multicultural and geographically distributed teams
High degree of autonomy and accountability (we operate within a hybrid work environment)
High-ownership mindset with strong accountability for outcomes
Ability to influence leadership and align cross-functional teams around a shared product vision

Nice to Have:
Experience within energy, utilities, infrastructure, or cleantech sectors
Exposure to grid management systems, SCADA, or enterprise utility software
