Job Title: Business Development Lead - Oil & Gas

Role Summary
- We are seeking a high-performing and commercially astute Business Development Lead to drive sustainable revenue growth, secure strategic contracts, and strengthen our competitive positioning within the Nigerian Oil & Gas sector.
- This role exists to directly address performance gaps in contract acquisition and revenue generation. The successful candidate will play a critical role in expanding the client base, improving bid success rates, and ensuring the company consistently meets annual revenue targets. Failure to fill this role would significantly impact revenue performance and market positioning.
Key Objectives & Business Impact:
- The Business Development Lead will be accountable for:
- Expanding the company’s footprint within the Oil & Gas industry
- Securing high-value contracts through tenders and strategic negotiations
- Improving competitive positioning within the sector
- Driving achievement of annual revenue targets
- Strengthening long-term partnerships with operators, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Opportunity Development:
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Expand upstream and midstream client base through strategic engagement.
- Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline aligned with revenue targets.
Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with operators, contractors, government bodies, and key partners.
- Drive client retention and repeat contract opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry meetings and engagements.
Tendering & Contract Acquisition:
- Lead the preparation and submission of proposals and tenders via NIPEX and other platforms.
- Oversee bid strategy, pricing alignment, and proposal competitiveness.
- Follow up on submissions to improve bid success rates and secure awards.
- Negotiate contracts within approved authority limits (subject to supervisory approval).
Strategic Market Intelligence & Reporting:
- Track industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
- Provide strategic input to management for improved market positioning.
- Maintain accurate reporting of business development activities and pipeline health using CRM/ERP systems.
Limited Project Oversight:
- Provide oversight during early project execution stages to ensure alignment with contract terms.
- Escalate operational issues impacting contract performance.
- Support cross-functional collaboration between Finance, Operations, Client Relations, and Project Teams.
Requirements
Required Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of upstream Oil & Gas operations
- Deep understanding of NIPEX processes and tendering systems
- Contract negotiation and regulatory compliance knowledge
- Proposal development and bid management expertise
- Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
- 5–8 years of proven Business Development experience within the Oil & Gas sector
- Demonstrated success in identifying, pursuing, and closing contracts
- Strong network within Nigerian Oil & Gas industry

Remuneration
Compensation: N500,000 – N600,000 monthly + Performance-Based Incentives.
