We areseeking an experienced and commercially astute Event Centre Manager to provide overall leadership of the centre’s operations, business development, and service delivery.
The Event Centre Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for the seamless running of all events, the performance of operational teams, client satisfaction, and the commercial growth of the business.
This is a senior, hands-on role requiring a seasoned professional who brings proven experience from a comparable event centre or hospitality environment and who is capable of managing multiple functions simultaneously – from client relations and vendor coordination to staff management and revenue performance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and day-to-day management of all event centre operations, ensuring every event – from initial booking through to post-event review – is executed to the highest standard of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Serve as the primary relationship manager for clients, handling enquiries, bookings, event briefs, and on-the-day client liaison, while proactively managing expectations and resolving any complaints or issues – including matters relating to facility condition, damages, and post-event charges – promptly and professionally.
Lead, supervise, and develop all operational staff, including the Facility Officer, Housekeeper, cleaning teams, and event support personnel, setting clear performance expectations and maintaining accountability across all departments.
Drive revenue generation and business development by identifying opportunities to grow bookings, maximise venue utilisation, negotiate competitive vendor and supplier agreements, and contribute to the centre’s overall commercial targets.
Oversee all vendor and third-party relationships – including decorators, caterers, AV providers, security, and maintenance contractors – ensuring service level agreements are met and vendor conduct aligns with Highpoint’s brand standards.
Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to verify that all event halls, suites, restrooms, and common areas are clean, fully functional, and event-ready; follow up to ensure defects, repairs, and maintenance issues are resolved before the next scheduled event.
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements across the facility, including emergency preparedness, fire safety protocols, crowd management, waste management coordination with LAWMA, and engagement with LASMA and other relevant government agencies.
Monitor and report on operational and financial performance, providing management with regular updates on event schedules, revenue, expenditure, facility status, staff performance, and any risks or issues requiring escalation.
Qualification & Experience
A Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Event Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an event centre, hotel, or hospitality management role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
Demonstrated track record of managing large-scale events and coordinating multiple operational teams simultaneously.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in business development, revenue management, and vendor negotiation.
Familiarity with Lagos regulatory environment including LAWMA, LASMA, and other relevant compliance bodies.
